Ashley Dupre 20/20 interview

I'm surprised that there isn't a thread already on Ashley Dupre's interview with Diane Sawyer last night on ABC's 20/20.

Or is the consensus that it was the "same old, same old"?

Diane Sawyer seemed to conduct the typical older U.S. female reporter interview on the topic "Oh the shame of it all" no drawing out of the fact that Ms. Dupre was earning far more money than she otherwise would have been able to. And of course the usual "being an escort is just the same as being a streetwalker" jive.

As was said back at the time the whole story broke, when you really get a good look at her there are many escorts in Montreal and Toronto who are much prettier. "Our Ashley's" sig photo is very flattering to the "real Ashley."

Her 15 minutes are up! Diane better think about more relevant personalities to interview or her time will be up as well! I watched a little, but had to change the channel when Ashley said "it was never about the money!?!" Riiiiiight!

It`s a terrific conspiracy: Diane plays the stern moralist (wonder if Mike Nichols was calling an agency while Diane was off doing the interview) and Ashley plays the percussive snare of self-pity, complete with super close ups, lip gloss and rolling tears.

When Diane said" "you haven`t said the word".

"Prostitution".

I just about wanted to throw my remote at her face. She`s such a highly paid salesmen, that woman. They should have had some awful death metal playing at that moment and kids being eaten by pythons.

Ashley did allude to the honesty of the transactional nature of paid sex. Gotta give her credit for that.

But when she said she felt the pain of Spitzer`s wife, it made me laugh, like hey girl, wasn`t it you that`s selling sex to the married man, who AMAZINGLY enough, you didn`t know was the governor of your own state. Hmmmmm.

Perhaps I was grumpy when I sat down to watch because my ass hurt from Angela doing ruin to my asshole over at Lucy`s place <

I think the reason just hasn't got much talk on Terb....I posted about her interview coming up days ago in the lounge and not one member posted anything about it....is

1st,,,Mr Spitzer never got charged with a crime even thou it was in the USA which at least on Terb is thought to be very escort unfriendly. (not going to want to debate it)

2nd...none of us can book a $1,000 an hour escort for muti-hours, pay for her to come out of state to visit us and to top it off, have the wife find out about it and she sticks right by side with her hubby

3rd...its old news...when it first happen there was many posts about him and her.

Of course the price is in large measure due to the illegality of outcall in the U.S.

Although I'm in no way surprised, as already said, I thought the interview very "feminist" and hypocritical. Likewise, I'm not surprised but I thought "Ashley" was doing her very best to appear a victim, rather than a woman in her early 20's earning more than most University Graduates her age.

I did think that more TERBites would react to the hypocrisy of the interview.

Saw part of the interview. Reminded me of a soap opera. Pile of horseshit. I say good for her to make that kind of money. Hope she charged them plenty for the interview.

Just wondering if she's still in the biz, and if the IRS went after her for uneported income.
