Well this is my fifth time going to pattaya beach "mongerers paradise" . Haven`t been in a while . Should be fun .

Anyone looking for a tour guide who will head down there around this time just PM me.

I expect the place to be somewhat changed since the last time i went , more developed , more shopping malls bars , hotels etc .

I depart Jan 28,09 from Toronto Airport .

If I only had the time and the money!
I've been to Pattaya only once and for those that have not gone...it's a bit insane.
One thing that sticks in my mind was the huge hangover I got from the Chang beer!
Enjoy and be safe.

Wow! I'm off to Bangkok and Pattaya. I can't wait. Which is better? I've heard that Pattaya is the better and more reasonable place.

Any advice for the first time hobbyist?

Went last year to Phuket and stayed in Kata beach. A bit of a mistake as I was going into Patong every night anyway. Lots of fun and cheap. The biggest expense is airfare, about $2,000. Will go again next year. I have heard Pattaya is a bit of a dump, but have never been there.

One of the most amazing things I liked about Pattaya was that for 20 Baht (about $0.60) you can hop on a pick up truck and get ferried down the street for as long as you want. Certainly saves wear and tear on the dogs. Go go bars are plentiful and the boardwalk turns from vendor rich to hooker rich after dark. A mile of every description of lady you could imagine. Make sure you avoid seeing dentist here before going, because you can get appointment and cleaning for $30.00 there. In fact, I was informed that braces for your teeth would be under $1000.00. A couple of kids needing them would save you $8000.00 over similar visit here. Something I noticed in Thailand was that they all have nearly perfect teeth (generous cropping of population) and the ladies have little to no inhibitions. Not much wonder it's a "mongerers paradise" as sommy puts it. There is a way of life there that amazes me. Can't wait to do further research!

When I was in super girls I was amazed that they added a jacuzzi full of soapy water beside the stage, watching those girls dance and rubbing water and foam all over was just quite the site. The Plasma Tv with camera in walking street was another thing that made we wonder, do these punters want to be scene live on the internet? Anyway you can view walking street pattaya live at most times on the TIMEOUT GELATO website, search it as I am not sure if i can post a live link. Remember they are 12 hours ahead of us if you are in eastern time.

I think for Bangkok you need a lot of help with finding right places. A guide would probably be a good idea.
There were times when I felt I didn't know where to go anymore. Tourist traps were just not fun after a while...

Pattaya is much smaller but the nightlife is crazy.
I'd pick that instead of Bangkok. That place is like a Bermuda triangle. I'm afraid I'll end up renting an apartment there and decide to live there.
