Over the past month, the crusaders at Zuccotti Park have braved the elements, tussled with police, and stood their ground against Mayor Bloomberg. But how much do the protesters actually know about the economic system that they're fighting to change? To find out, we asked 50 occupiers a series of questions about Wall Street, taxes, and government. The results were mixed. See if you can do better.

LOL

Fidiots....

I wonder how the grassroots Teabagger would do on this test. Unfortunately we'll probably never know.

lol, not that hard to get them all right, pretty simple, easy questions.

I was stuck on one question, I was looking for "all of the above" and they didn't have that option.

Who is the Chairman of the Federal Reserve?

-Bernanke
-some asshole/idiot
-some old white guy
-he's Jewish

How long did it take you to google the answers?

Seriously, no one cares what your score was.
He missed the point that the people protesting don't know anything about what they are protesting.... nor do they have any real alternatives....

I did get that point in as much as I also commented on how well/bad the Teabagger protestor would have probably don't as badly. You seem to miss that point.

I'm not sure you have any evidence of that

Actually intelligence is not a major factor.

It may simply come down to numbers. If enough people are pissed then, as a democracy, the majority will get their way.

exactly- how smart is the average voter or politician for that matter (one if by land or something comes to mind). its an expression of real anger which you may not agree with and may not make sense but its real nonetheless

There are many alternatives to Wall Street-make your numbers every quarter regardless of consequences for employees-types of capitalism. Northern europe is doing quite well. The average person there enjoys virtually free post secondary education, low unemployment, and a generous safety net when life throws them a curve.

The american retort to this reality is that they also have no growth...well, it is projected by many eminent experts that the US is likely to grow at only 2% for the next decade. Low growth combined with a shitty threadbare safety net for the average Joe ain't no model any rational human being would opt for.

Bottom line: productivity per hour worked in the US and Canada is constantly rising, but the beneficiaries of this increase in wealth is not being distributed in an equitable manner. If this reality doesn't provoke at least some response from those being adversely affected, then god help us all.
