Are body bronzers safe?

The net says tanning beds are not a safer alternative to sun tanning.

I can find no info about safety of body bronzers. They can be self applied.
They can be sprayed on at spa or applied at spa after body scrub to remove dead skin to make tan last longer

Keep in mind that most sunless tanning products don't contain sunscreen. If a product contains sunscreen, it will only be effective for a couple of hours. The color produced by a sunless tanning product doesn't protect your skin from UV rays. The net also says a lot of things are "safe".
I personally wouldn't trust the lotions and sprays that you put on your skin because, chemicals.

So she napped a bit 3-5am while slowly she opened up for delivery.

Sun comes up at 3:30am.
I wandered a floor up, and saw a few guys playing cards, so I joined for a few hands.

It was the skin cancer ward,\./
So folks had missing noses, huge slabs of back skin removed, a few with no cheek, etc.
All nice folks but that few minutes and my blonde hair tell me to avoid sun as much as I can.

You're a smart man. Learning from the mistakes of others. We won't live long enough to make them all ourselves!

It could also be splashback from another ketchup throwing tantrum...
