Do any of you know why she became a bartender with her high powered degrees?

Ps I still don't know who is pushing for her to be president. I think this is some Newsmax hallucination on a slow news day.

Did you really wrote that?
Yes I really wrote that. Do you really find her to be intelligent when she's claiming that her life was in danger during the January 6 riot and that she thought she was gonna get raped. And if education matters in politics then explain our current PM.

She paid her way through school as a bartender, didn't she?
Isn't that the american dream, work hard and rise to the top?

Much better than picking some entitled crook who was born rich and stayed rich by ripping everyone else off.

A substitute drama teacher is not an educator. And he knows nothing about economics.
And yet he gave us the 4th best living standard, lowest unemployment and strong economy.
If anything he leaned too far to the right.

The question is whether IDU will try to force in their choice now or whether the libs will learn from the dem loss.

It's an interesting story and I wondered how much her haters actually tried to learn about her VS blindly repeating Hannity etc. Its stated at the end. From Wikipedia:
Ocasio-Cortez attended Yorktown High School, graduating in 2007.[19] In high school and college, Ocasio-Cortez went by the name of "Sandy Ocasio".[20] She came in second in the microbiology category of the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in 2007 with a research project on the effect of antioxidants on the lifespan of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans.[21][22] In a show of appreciation for her efforts, the MIT Lincoln Laboratory named a small asteroid after her: 23238 Ocasio-Cortez.[23][24] In high school, she took part in the National Hispanic Institute's Lorenzo de Zavala (LDZ) Youth Legislative Session. After graduating, she became the LDZ Secretary of State while attending Boston University. Ocasio-Cortez had a John F. Lopez Fellowship.[25]

Her father died of lung cancer in 2008 during her second year of college,[26][27] and Ocasio-Cortez became involved in a lengthy probate dispute to settle his estate. She has said that the experience helped her learn "first-hand how attorneys appointed by the court to administer an estate can enrich themselves at the expense of the families struggling to make sense of the bureaucracy".[28] During college, Ocasio-Cortez was an intern for U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy in his section on foreign affairs and immigration issues.[29] In interviews, she said she was the only Spanish speaker in the office and the sole person responsible for assisting Spanish-speaking constituents.[29][30][31] Ocasio-Cortez graduated cum laude[32] from Boston University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in international relations and economics.[33][30][34]

After college, Ocasio-Cortez moved back to the Bronx and took a job as a bartender and waitress to help her mother—a house cleaner and school bus driver—fight foreclosure of their home.[35][36] She later launched Brook Avenue Press, a now-defunct publishing firm for books that portrayed the Bronx in a positive light.[37][38] Ocasio-Cortez also worked for the nonprofit National Hispanic Institute.[25][39][40]

Yes living in a tent and housing costs that are out of control is a good living standard. We had a good living standard before he was PM. It's been downhill ever since.

George W Bush graduated from Yale yet he was always perceived as an idiot in the public eye. Why? cause when he opens his mouth he sounds like an idiot. And it's the same with AOC

PeePee voted against funding for housing every time it came up.
But more importantly, right wingers have zero clue about provincial vs federal jurisdiction for programs.

In Toronto, Chow has been able to start building housing by bypassing Ford and working with Trudeau.
Conservative premiers have been a disaster for social programs, rent control and housing.

How do you think cutting social services will get homeless people off the streets?

Did he come in second in a science project? Did he graduate cum laude? How did he get into Yale? His father/family greased his entire path in life.
And I beseech thee - listen to AOC questioning witnesses in congress. Not the clips on Fox. Or on other sites, as those are often manipulated. Go to C-Span instead and watch. She's very bright. She does her homework.

However, I think she gets over her ski's too much and has way too optimistic beliefs about the green stuff but the basic premise she's working under is right. She reminds me of those bright enthusiastic students - we get them as interns. We more experienced types just love their energy, but we usually tap their brakes because reality means budgets, dealing with opposition, getting realistic timelines, dealing with what is being left behind, other unforeseen problems, dealing with real human beings who often need to be brought about more slowly etc etc. Thus there is naivete. And she gets more press than she's earned in my opinion. Even Nancy slapped her down a few times.

Jewish space lasers is stupid.
Saying the separation of church and state is a myth and that Christian church supersedes the laws of the constitution is stupid.
Investing in green energy is not stupid.
