Wow, sure I remember him. He was a funny guy. I saw him live with SC at least once.

What a shame. Sounds like he needs treatment more than punishment.

Not that I'm minimizing the trauma his wife and daughter have suffered in any way.

I met him on the subway a few years ago and we chatted for about 5 minutes. He seemed very coherent and nice enough to talk to.
I have yet to run into any celebrity from Canada that has been unapproachable. It is a shame how far a man can fall under different circumstances.

I remember him from his Second City days.

Mental illness is a terrible thing. We all walk a fine line sometimes, and in the case of comedians, they walk a razor.

I hope he can get things sorted out. It's sad, but it doesn't make him a twit, it makes him a victim in the truest sense.

I do remember him. I read a previous article in the Star a few months ago as well. The problem is that we do not have facilities that are appropriate for people like him. People who are convicted of serious crimes can spend less time in jail than he has and he hasn't been convicted yet. Because of the length of his pretrial detention, even if he is convicted, he would be released right away. A rational person would have pled guilty early on, and gotten a conditional discharge, or agreed to a peace bond, either or which would have resulted in no jail and no record, but he really believes he is right and he can't shake the delusion. No doubt that a lot of us here have had the thought: "what the hell happened to the girl I married"?

Meanwhile, the real criminals get revolved back into the street with $2,000 for their troubles.....a good example of our Canadian Justice....er....Legal System at work....I think not!!
This poor guy needs HELP!
The real criminals get all kinds of FREE professional assistance every day in our courts....lawyers, translators, medical, etc etc ALL at our expense of course....so why does this guy get to rot in jail all this time??
