Anyone making money on Youtube (Google)?

I've put some videos up on Google for friends, items I am selling, etc. I put a "How to" video up for fun. It gets about 1000 hits a week. Up to 36,000 now.

Google asks me if I want to "monetize it." Long story short, if I say yes (and I did) they will run an ad before it or off to the side and I'll make money on click thru's. It's being reviewed now for content.

Just wondering if anyone is doing this and making any money. What videos are making the most money?

Sorry, I said Google at first. I meant Youtube. They just mean the same thing to me and Youtube is owned by Google. My mistake.

Have not done it with videos, but have placed their Adsense ads on my website. Not going to make me rich, but enough for my coffee fund.

Any Youtube video you see with an ad either proceeding it or off to the side is monetized. They allowed mine because it was doing better than others in similar search results.

I just looked and a video and it had a Papa Johns Pizza ad/offer to the right. Just about any video (excluding porn or copyrighted material) can be monetized.

I assuming that if you have a "kids doing wacky things video" you may get Toys R Us type click thru's and offers. Some click thru's pay more that others. Mine is about gambling. I am guessing when it's approved, you're likely to see travel deals to Vegas type ads. I've seen some info that click thru's could pay from $.10-$3. I'd be interested in whether the kids or travel videos make more money.

Do it. A good friend of my owns an arts and crafts store. On a separate site unrelated to her store's website, she posts tips and how to videos showing what and how she creates her work. She gets about 1500 separate hits per day and Google sends her a cheque for over $1000 each month.

you can only make money from google if you work for them. otherwise, it's a waste of time.

I tied their adsense with one my sites. After a year, made about $100. Not worth the hassle although there appear to be some that do make money.

There is money to be made on Google. The more traffic you have on your site determines how much you make.

Well, this is a waste of time...
You asked. The best way to make money is to have google buy your idea or product. Or go independant and have companies put ads on your site. Look at what Kim Dotcom did. He was making over 100gs per day. He also had many sites linking to his own, of course for a fee.

if you know how to create videos/content that people are interested in and will follow, its a lucrative way to make money. Waaayyy too many kids making a few thousands on one single uploaded video every month from traffic.

From my understanding, people get paid about $100 for 10,000 hits... If you had a million hits on a video, you could quit your job and take it full time and realse a few vids a month

I know you can post videos on youtube, but I did not know you can post videos on google. Where do you post them on google? Is there a book or website that tells you how to post videos on google?

Sorry, I don't see Google & Youtube as different. My mistake, I should have been more specific.

I'm not looking for a get rich scheme, but would enjoy making some extra money to spend on SP's posting videos on things I enjoy.

PS-I see I just got "monetized"! Because it's a gambling related video, they have an ad/offer from Goldline next to it. Got Gold? . Guess I'll just lay back and watch the money roll in!!

I haven't posted a link cause I don't want to violate any TERB ad policies. Plus I'm to lazy to read all the rules!!

is the content owned by google once you enter into this deal? what if you wanted to sell it elsewhere at a later time....what about music? does google own a part of that song if it goes on to sell elsewhere?

I had enrolled a blog from google once, managed a few hits per day. then got those, autoclickers (ton's of 'em) that generate hits on your website(more like inter-networking) it upped my hits to about 200%, with adsense, i got about, $50 a month.but you need to update your blog, some people just left it there. i cancelled mine. $1000 a month is pretty good but i think that's exagerrated. thru adsense, i think you're going to make $100 - $200 a month at best. unless you're getting hits by millions a month.

i think you own it. although there's a waiver that they can call the shots if they should put an ad in there or not.
