I am in trying to find a good place for brunch either downtown Toronto or West End - Oakville or Mississauga. Any recommendations? I'm not looking for Denny's but something towards middle of the road to almost fine dining?

I was thinking of Old Mill but wanted to hear about other choices. A second preference is the King Edward Hotel but I haven't been there for brunch for years.

I received a few more suggestions from friends:

Zachary's at the Bristol Place Hotel (airport area)
Water Street Cooker (Burlington)

I've found the Water Street Cooker to be one of the best brunches for the money in the West End. It includes prime rib and seafood. The hotel brunches tend to be over priced and under valued. I've tried all of the above. Windsor Arms is great, but not worth twice the price of WSC.

I can't remember the name of the pub in Port Credit. I believe it was on the corner of hwy 10 and lakeshore, it was always great eating there.

There is also a number of places in Port Credit right on the river as well as Oakville.

If you're just looking for good food Mama Martinos on the Queensway just east of Royal York has great food.....I love that place....(plus they often have the hottest wait staff)

Definitely not high end but a lot of fun. The food at this place is always great and the all-day breakfast is a great deal.

I forget what it costs but it's moderate compared to other places and you have the option of either all-you-can-eat or going along the line once and piling the stuff on your plate.

Very popular. Reservations a necessity.

It's a bit of a drive but well worth it........... The Terra Cotta Inn

Wear loose clothing because you'll be stuffed when you leave. :D
Thanks for the suggestion but I called the Terra Cotta Inn and they do not have a brunch. Their website looks good; I might drop in for lunch or dinner another time.

I am in the process of organizing a Sunday Brunch for two families (9 people) and want to make sure the place I choose makes a good impression.

Hot House has an amazing selection. You will not go away hungry!
...and I would agree. The food is decent (not world class, but not bad) and there is plenty of selection.

Go early though...very early...

I also recommend the HotHouse.. The food is good and the live jazz music is even better. I am there at least once a month. I also recommend that you arrive earlier or call to reserve a table.

Thanks
