Anyone gaming anything?

Playing pen and paper online is like taking a shower in a raincoat.
I'm kinda old school that way. I did one game were half the players were not in the room. Erg.

I get that. But I have found there are advantages as well. Much easier to get people together as no travel time. It's pretty much 50+ years that play 1st, 2nd edition, with a few in their thirties. So getting them out of the house is tougher.

I discovered it during the pandemic and am still in games 4 years later. Map Making, dice rolling, using private messaging all work well. Tracking of various conditions (invisible, stunned whatever) is easy. Character sheets, shared documents for treasure, Information are better. Macros for attacks work well..

In the case of a TERB game Ithink the ability to be anonymous will be a huge factor in getting players.

Gaming is going through a dark age right now. But it also matters what type of games you like. Im assuming single player with your GTA suggestion.

Indie studios are basically the only game in town now and a lot of that just doesn't interest me all that much, The Long Dark was the last game I really feel in love with but quickly lost interest in. Anything that comes out of the major development studios is universally garbage. I still play Squad a bit but other than that I've more or less checked out of gaming. I plan on using my gaming rig for DJing going forward I just need to save the money to invest in a good set of turntables and a mixer

I never liked the idea, tried it once before the covid.

For me a much bigger part is the social aspect, gathering around the table with a bunch of neckbeard nerds. The game is just there to kill time between Monty Python references

I took a good couple of years off video games when they joy went away. Got back into it a few years ago and played some great stuff for dirt cheap.

Now I'm just waiting for the second coming of Christ, I mean GTA VI.

I rarely do online gaming or usually just mute the chat.

I got BO6 for my older son. I might check out the campaign. The trailers were intriguing, but honestly didn't appeal that much to me. I did finally decided to try MW2 campaign and it was a enjoyable. Pretty sure it's the only COD campaign I've ever played otherwise the rare time I got the game before was for some MP fun.

I really enjoyed BO4 MP. It was extremely fun with each character having their specialties. After that I found MP to be too realistic and not as fun. I play for the fun factor.
