I agree with this. 100%. Couldn’t have explained it better myself.

I had a friend watch it and she was getting annoyed and it didn’t all come together for her until the last episode. At least that is what she said as a non-gamer
The issue I have with this is that shows are no longer made for mass appeal. People unfamiliar with the games may have never been the target audience. Seems that the target audience can't even enjoy it without analyzing it to death.

I have not played the game, so for me it was just a series. And I loved it. Sometimes it is good to not know the story of what you are watching. But even in cases where I have played and know the story - like Witcher for example, I didn't really have a problem. I guess I am just not overtly critical about these things.
I've been watching Shogun, which has been stupidly compared with GoT. GoT got more and more over the top as the years went by. Shogun is much less action driven and more about the political intrigue. I find comparing shows unfair because they have different audiences and objectives.

It is advertised to the masses so the masses are going to watch/not watch and have opinions.

I get it. I’m in the creative -ish field too. Some people like my work. Others don’t. But I’m not going to say people can’t voice their opinion. Which is how your posts are coming across.

To be honest, it sounds like you are triggered by your work and the various and numerous opinions shot out by everyone and anyone and taking your annoyance/frsutration from there and bringing it here. But that is just another opinion.

I personally liked the show. She liked it by the end but said it took the whole series to get there and it was an annoying process to get there. That was her opinion.

Haha incidentally I started watching Halo yesterday. 1 episode in and I like it!

Shogun is incredibly well written. One of the best I have watched so far.
S3 of Halo started slow and I was like WTF? It eventually picked up. I have started to wait until a series has ended its season so I can binge watch it.

It's advertised to the masses, but you have to be a subscriber to watch it. The producers know this and can tailor the show to those tastes or not. Yes, I know there's lots of illegal ways to watch shows.

Sorry, but I can't help it if you thought I was telling you not to express your opinion.

I just found his "fuck you" off side after complaining that the show didn't do what another show did and didn't match what the games were about.

I have never played the game but I watched it just because Ella gave me a woody everytime she said "oakey dokey"
I was amazed, but not surprised when I learned that the actress is English. They are experts at American accents. She also has giant Gollum eyes like Amanda Seyfried. Yet another thing to complain about 😂

I'm sure there's something being lost in translation so you have to pay very close attention like reading a book.

Other than Blackthorn, Toranaga and Mariko, I'm not quite sure who are the other characters.

I had an LOL moment at the end of E7 with Toranaga's son providing the comedy. Yeah almost need a guide book for the cast of characters.

I hate the 1 episode per week thing too. Just release everything in one go already lol. Fallout did the right thing.
I go back and forth about this streamind trend. Having the whole series at once is like a book where you can stop wherever you want. Having 1 episode per week gives time to wonder about what's going to happen next, build up some tension and lets you talk amongst your friends without spoilers.

I was just watching Halo and the blatant product placement is LOL. The advanced AI Dr. Halsey creates is called Cortana. The same as your windows search AI. Not sure which came first though.
Cortana is Master Chief's AI hologram assistant from the first game. MS used the same name for their search assistant in Windows 10.

Is there a Cortana hologram in the series?

Yeah, I can see the corniness. There's some of that corniness in the source material though. I didn't play 76, but I think it was criticized for trying to shoehorn multiplayer into a single player narrative. So you kind of wandered around and had to find other human players to go on quests with. Not sure if they've fixed that in later updates.
I agree, there is corniness in the games and I liked that they brought that to the show.

As for Fallout 76, I played its early release and was not impressed. Playing solo, starting from level 1 was incredibly difficult.

I started playing again about two months ago and chose the new option to start from level 20 which helped a ton as a solo player.
It can still be difficult at times, but with stealth and patience I'm doing quite well all alone.

I think multiplayer sounds good on paper, but it's tough to execute. It won't work that well if your friends can do other tihngs while you're on a main quest. It could work if you want to build your settlement while they farm for materials. Maybe they could have made quests where multiple objectives have to be completed at the same time and in a specific time frame.

I have no problem with the Vault POV as it unfolds that Ella's mom provided the "pip-boy" and how the outsiders were able to breach the vaults...and why Moldaver wanted retribution because they were able to re-civilized the outside world and the vault overseer nuked them again...I get it...need to cut the head of the snake but she didn't...she just put him in a cage for him to get out later on...the "brotherhood" story line was corny....I mean...anybody can just be Knight after all that training because knights get killed easily anyways...even a ghoul can dismantle 3 of em...it's like amazon got the bid to do fallout and throw it on some interns lap and say "here run with it"....because it's amazon and it's fallout...

One particular thing I liked about the show was the giant golf bag the squire was using to keep weapons. It's an age old video game trope esp RPGs where you can carry an arsenlal of weapons, ammo, and many other items, but don't have a visible bag to carry it around. In RPG's, you have a precise weight limit and if you go over it just by 1KG you can't walk properly anymore.

It's a detail that looks ridiculous to non-gamers, but actually makes a big of logical sense. How else would a soldier carry so much stuff around? The gaming crowd just gets those little details.

I was really expecting a much closer to "fallout" game this show will be...but guess what...it didn't live up to my own expectations...after episode one, I knew this was a "faction vs murauders vs bounty hunter vs brotherhood" show...much like game of thrones but in a futuristic setting...didn't stay true to the game...

What I was expecting:
Ella or a few vaulters were designated to explore the outside world and collect data if the world is now livable and ready for the next civiliation and turn out a fight for survival with the use of resourcefulness with whatever they can salvage....with a rampaging ghoul on their trail...

The one logic I did not get in Fallout, and had a problem with, is that Vault-Tec decided to nuke humanity, to "destroy the competition" so they could profit by being the monopoly. I mean, humanity is your customer! How is it logical to kill your customers? And when humanity is destroyed, the rest of the vault dwellers just stay for free right? So how is it profitable for Vault-Tec? The logic simply does not add up and seems moronic. But hey, am overthinking at this point.
Too many contradictions....they nuke the outside world causing more radiation and them staying for another 100 years underground sounds counter productive to what they're trying to achieve...the main reason they went under was to survive radiation....whoever wrote this i'm sure was a big fan of game of thrones....they can't even show ellas tits in the show...
