Anybody up for a trip to the D.R. ?

There are a couple of us who are contemplating a February and March trip to Viking. I have been corresponding with a returning guest who can get us some perks and discounts as well.
Another lead, if you want to do the a la carte trip to DR, is The Palace. Basically a small hotel that caters to (or has become popular with) the hobby tourist crowd.

UnMEnXTC - what did you have in mind when you mentioned a trip to the DR in Oct?
I recently returned from Viking in the DR. I think Viking is a luxury resort, but (honestly) overpriced. I posted a review of my trip on TERB at the end of August. On that trip I also visited Sosua Palace ("The Palace"). Maybe it's just me but I'm not sure that I would actually want to "stay" at the Palace, and from experience it would seem that the girls there just want to get you to cum ASAP and out. It is basically a brothel with about 10 regular local girls. If you don't have a room there they charge about 300 pesos (US$10) for the use of a room, and about 800-1,000 pesos (US$35) for their "service". Most of the girls are reasonable lookers, but no real beauties!
Instead, I would suggest a stay at a half-decent all inclusive resort (costs less than C$1,500 each for a week, including airfare - there are some MUUCH cheaper ones offered at this time of year). And then I'd approach my favorite Toronto SPs and see who might want to spend a week's paid vacation, with a fixed rate for the week. My feeling is that you can do it for under $5,000 - a lot less than the $10,000 it costs for Viking (bear in mind Viking is priced at between US$3,900 and 5,900 (approx C$5,500- C$8,000), does not include airfare (approx C$750), does not include (compulsory!) tip US$400 (C$550), and only covers 3 or 4 days). So you need another hotel for the remaining days (all flights from TO are 1 week charter flights) - approx US$200/300 (C$400), not to mention the cost of companion(s) for those other 3 or 4 days.

eatipus your theory is good except I think the going rate for toronto sps to travel is a lot more n that. There was a thread on there about sp travel and the costs.
If memory serves I think 5000 was a starting point for her services for a weekend and went up from there (at an extremely sharp angle I might add).

Well, without going into any specifics, I have spoken to 2 girls who I have seen regularly, and both have said that they would go for the free holiday and $2,000 for the week. For many girls that is more than they normally make in a week, and they get to enjoy a fully paid vacation. Of course it probably only works with indies who know you well.
I also know a couple of girls in the DR who are US$300 a night, who would probably reduce it to US$1,500 for the week. So I'm sure that it can be done.

Well, eatdipus said it, and he's been there. I find $3900+ to be too much to spend on a crap shoot. Yes, the resort itself looks beautiful, but to spend a week with a gal that you don't like or doesn't like you doesn't sound like fun. Rapport is still important even in this business.
That seems like a lot of money for a place like the D.R. I would have guessed closer to $100 a night (or less). Some friends of mine are moving there company to D.R. for a variety of reasons and since I do work for them, I'm likely to find myself in D.R. on business at some point. when that happens, I'll file a report on what I encounter.

Some friends of mine are moving there company to D.R. for a variety of reasons and since I do work for them, I'm likely to find myself in D.R. on business at some point. when that happens, I'll file a report on what I encounter.

I'm sure they are obtainable but you need to go clubbing to find them, and the best ones go quickly! The two DR girls that I was introduced to are models - absolutely gorgeous - and their agency charges them out at $400 a night. I have their e-mails and phone #s, so if I'm going to the DR I'd try to book them direct.

Anyways, I think Vikings is out, was thining of A.A.V. too, it lloks like a better deal, but,with the last minute prices currently, I think I am going to go AI and at lleast use that as a home base and then check out the local talent.
Could possibly rent a room too at a local hotel for a couple of days or so!
Think my dates are goint to be Oct 4 approx (poss. 3 or 5) gets me back in time for Thanksgiving.
