Somewhere in my 14-15' of vinyl I have other Holst renditions.
This was just part of a few inches of these shelve(s) I brought upstairs to listen to.
As the sun shone in my back wiindow this am.

Just like I must have 4-5 renditions of the 1812 Overture, and sundry Rossini Overtures.

At present it is Grofe: Grand Canyon Suite spinning. Bernstein and NY Philharmonic, 1973 LP.
I know I have this a few times over as well.

Dave Hurwitz's Reference Recording: The Goldberg Variations.

Glenn Gould lived on Parkwood Rd and St Clair just east of Spadina. His 1955 recording of the Goldberg Variations have never gone out of print.

Johannes Brahms had a Marco Symphony. He took his St Bernard Marco to his rehearsal for his latest symphony. He was left leashed outside the hall. Marco wasn't having it, he started barking up a ruckus. Then he broke the leash and scampered into the hall where he caused chaos. Brahms called him over beside him, the dog promptly fell asleep and started snoring.

That is why the Symphony No.4 should be called the Marco Symphony.

Rick Wakeman did a variation of the 3rd Movement...he bit off more than he could chew.

Perhaps the world greatest pianist will be in Toronto on Nov 22. Danil Trifonov is performing a solo recital at the Royal Conservatory of Music/Kroener Hall. He left Russia in 2015 then became the toast of NYC.

Not something I can miss.
