I need advice

I am having fun in an acting school.

Trick is do not act, just be the character then whatever comes out is real. If you are gonna act do not get caught doing it

It is quite hard to do. I was gonna quit but my teacher talked me out of it as his instinct was I was good I just had to stop acting.

I did not trust myself to do it but when I just said ' fuck it' I got a a lot better.

Now, each time I do a scene it is different as different emotions come out and then it becomes fun instead of stressing about how bad you are. I had to learn to trust myself

Time to create a resume of scenes and get an agent.

I hesitate as it seems like too much hassle and too stressful if I land a job

I am not thinking I am gonna become famous, it just sounds like a fun yet challenging thing to do

Not interested doing commercials or a bad play or a bad movie

I am interested in the art

Bit scene in a good movie or a part in a solid amateur play

All the worlds a stage!
Actually, you are right.

One thing my teacher did was ask me
" what would you write if you had to write that scene"?

After I acted out my version everyome said I was pretty good as I was the real me

I learned if you are doing a monologue from a movie do not watch the movie because what the real actor did is now in your head and I am not Jack Nicholson, I am me, and I should not try to be someone else

Do not get an agent that charges you to become his agent! They make their monies off of your gigs. Extra work is crap

Money can be made from commercials but you gotta
do the call backs and stuff

You will find peope get hired for the stupid reasons not because they are the best

Connections are needed

You found something that's bringing you joy and pleasure so just go with it. And if all of that's still there after your lessons, join a local theater production to get more hands-on seasoning before jumping into the "deep end" of getting an agent and all of that. Baby steps first but just enjoy what you're doing now.

If you're on this site, I'll assume you're seeing different SPs. So from here on, be a different character with each one you see.
Try out different personals. Great practice to see how "believable" you can be.

Acting can be liberating...always wanted to try it but never got around to it. Watched a lot of Inside the Actors Studio which wasn't so much about acting but about the actors and what makes them tick... Nowadays there's plenty of those kinds of interviews on YouTube...

Trust is a sign and/or necessity for achieving proficiency in many activities including sports, instrument playing or acting...that, and a ton of practice

I remember what Michael Cain said about acting on ISA..."rehearsal is the work, performance is the relaxation"...Well, you've got to trust yourself to be able to relax...

Dear wife started acting classes in primary school, and 5 decades later she has been in tons of community theatre plays.
Some in the form of musicals, so the need to sing, dance and to a lesser degree than stright drama, also act.
Tap dancing in late 20's 30's and now thirty years later she has next to no cartiledge left in her knee joints.

Still stays busy acting, singing in choirs, stage manager, work back stage, etc. to the tune of at least 6 productions a year now that she is retired.

I just took some acting classes and I'm waiting to receive my reel.

Building a resume is the challenging part. You might have to do some free work to show you have experience. Get a good headshot too. The agents/casting directors only have that picture to judge you on.

Make sure you get a legit agent. They will mess with your money if they aren't on the industry standards lists.

Do some background work too see what it's like on set. Its very easy to find background agents (even the ones that don't charge registration fees) postings on Facebook for these gigs, especially time of year. A lot of struggling actors do bg work.
