And don't forget their large wine cellar and baked Alaska.Barbarians is my personal favourite. A classic steakhouse, think Goodfellas or The Godfather, and great service!
I am curious why not to take the kids? Adult content? It would disturb the atmosphere?Do you want fine dining or a steak? The Master Steak is a truck stop on the east side of Dixie, just north of the 401 in Mississauga. Good steak. Not a place to take the kids.

I've never been to the Octagon, a little further south at Yonge and Elgin but it's always highly recommended.

These options seem pretty close to where I'll be staying. I'll talk it over with my friends. I'm a little overwhelmed with the abundance of choice in the toronto area. I guess it'll come down to where I decide to go and proximity. I have nothing against the Keg, just want to try somewhere different. Thanks for the suggestions. You have received all sorts of recommendations but unfortunately nobody responded with what you asked for. There is only one real steakhouse in Newmarket and that is Timothy's on Yonge st. There is also a Keg. I would choose Timothy's over the Keg. On the other hand I would eat at Aqua Grill or Oakland Hall in Aurora ( both off Yonge less than 10 minutes away) and order a steak there.
