Money talks, when I was last in Quebec City a pocket full of cash seemed to be universally understood. They get (or at least used to get) a lot of guys from New England spending their money on things that were unavailable, expensive, or too risky to get at home. They'll tell your your crappy Ontario grade 10 French is perfectly understood. I can remember two strip clubs in the Quebec City area, one is in a rundown industrial area off of one of the expressways (I want to say it's called Lady Mary Anne or something but I don't remember exactly) and another is out in the burbs and attached to a cheap motel (hint hint) The latter is much better in every respect. They also had dancers of Haitian and Vietnamese descent if you're not interested in the "pur laine" type. Your $20's, $50's, and $100's will act as your fluent interpreters. Toronto is pretty alien to most of the girls in that area so they have no preconceived notions of a guy who says he's from Toronto like what some dancers elsewhere might have.
Matters are vastly different than what they were in the "glory days of the Parti Québécois several decades ago. If you make any effort at all to converse in French you get bonus points as opposed to criticism for not being fluent.

No...dont waste your money buddy. Enjoy the city and good food but don't expect any good hobby action. It's really dry.
dont waste your money OR your TIME...you can spend a couple hours or even a half day or more scouting out opportunities in papers, internet, only to come up dry and empty at the end of it all...been there wouldnt bother again
