Have to agree with Lanc's Lad, I could care less about these three. They were all well known to the cops and were all criminals.

Somebody did society a favour. Sounds cold, but it's how I feel.

Jane Creba, the Vivi Lemonis (pardon my spelling), Barbara Turnbull, John O'keefe (the guy who was walking on Yonge Street past the Brass Rail) - that's a different story. I'm truly outraged and want the most severe justice possible.

But 3 gang bangers dead, only sorry that it wasn't 300 gang bangers dead.

For those of you who've forgotten about Barbara:

Never forgot about Barbara Turnbull. She was shot about 10 minutes from where I grew up. At that time (mid 80's I think) these events were very very rare in Mississauga.

Let me add another one - Louise Russo. If you remember she was the lady who was shot at California sandwiches while her daughter was in the car. She was paralyzed by the bullet. Even worse she had a disabled daughter that needed constant care, which she provided.

That is warped thinking. Let the thugs take each other out. Society's safety is compromised when this happens no matter who the victim is.

If they shoot straight and only kill each other, I say the more the merrier.

It is only a crime worth investigating if an innocent person is hurt or killed.

If 300 bangers got killed per year in Toronto that would help with the crime rate.

It's only when they shoot recklessly and without remorse at each other that innocent bystanders get caught in the crossfire. This is why we should care and want to investigate fully any and all shootings.
As long as shooting continues being a no risk solution for these people, it will go on, and there will be more bystanders.
I am astounded by the selfish narrow view that has been adopted by so many board members.

I have posted many times on how harshly i feel these punks should be dealt with.

I know they can't shoot straight.

My comments have said that if they were only killing each other then its win/win for society, unfortunately, sometimes innocent people are hurt or killed. At that time lay on a full investigation, capture and terminate the shooter as a lesson to the others.

It is not narrow and selfish, just realistic and what a majority of people would likely agree with.

Better that the cops find them and maybe one day the justice system can deal with them harshly than they all go around shooting their guns off randomly whenever they feel like it.
Maybe your view not selfish, but it does seem like many people would rather bury their head in the sand and hope the problem goes away.

Could have sworn the news (680 radio) today had a story on an American tourist who foiled a robbery by shooting the assailant in the leg around Bay Street though I can't seem to find anything online about it.

If it's true, it sure says a lot about the border controls on guns.
