Well... I don't even know what to say.

Now in order to post on CL you must verify your email address with a telephone number; only one email address per number and who knows what other restrictions. So now all the illegal & high volume agencies, with their multiple phone lines, have won the CL wars. We independent girls are, in a word, fucked.

Fuck.

all i did was ask a question {i don't under stand why it is a problem for one email to have one number } why was it uncalled for i wasn't being mean at all god

In light of the recent posts about LE, the media coverage of the site, and the ability to delete posts and repost (top up?) when the over-posting of agencies pushes your ad off the page in a matter of an hour. All these issues essentially have the power to put the low-volume, very discrete women (like myself) out of business.

You have to give them the number and then an automated systems calls the number you enter and gives a verification code. You have to enter that code on CL in order to post.

I wonder who would gain access to these telephone numbers? (cops)??? I can see those using multiple e-mail addresses using yahoo and them wanting to stop a single woman from posting many many ads using multiple e-mail addresses. Maybe in one ad she is Rosie and another she is Kathleene and another Janet??? I would be hesitant about the real reasoning behind it though. Would the phone numbers be automatically listed in the ads? What is to stop someone from using fake numbers as well as multiple e-mail addresses though?

I am not too proud to accept an offer of help when I need it. Regardless of the person, I would make the same offer if I was in a position to do so; so perhaps that is our common ground. I would appreciate anything you could offer in this way.

I interpreted her initial comment as sarcastic, as in "So you are out of business - whats the problem." A 'salt in the wound" sort of thing. In hindsight, I did not fully explain the CL issue... so perhaps my emotions got the better of me and I was overly sensitive at the time I read her post.
