AN EVENING IN BUENOS AIRES (well, 2 actually)
I'm posting this here in the Lounge Section as there is no section for South American escort reviews. The lead up will be a bit long as I'm not sure any of you know much about the Argentinean scene. Please bear with me.
I recently spent 4 days in Argentina on a business trip and enjoyed an evening in BA on either end of the visit. BA is a lovely city known as the Paris of South America and in some of the older neighbourhoods it really looks like Paris. The women are often well educated and beautiful, and even appreciate an admiring glance (not a leer). You would not be considered a pervert. However, Argentina has recently gone through a devastating financial crisis and the peso has gone from 1:1 to the US dollar to 3.6:1. In this lies the source of my interesting time as there is essentially a 75% off sale going on in most of the country. Good values in hotels and restaurants (by South American capital city standards) can be found.

I have been to BA before and there was a thriving, if not expensive, sex industry going on. There are many small clubs on the side streets of downtown with hawkers on the street inviting you in to "see strippers or a free tango show". Nothing of the sort happens. You were offered drinks at $10 each for beer (all prices US unless pesos are specified) and up to $25 for imported liquor and, a chance to meet loads of very attractive women. If you bought a drink for a woman the prices were double. The girls will chat or dance with you but they were all prostitutes and were looking to be taken back to a hotel. I never found a real strip club in the city.
WARNING: One of my colleagues once went into a basement version of one of these clubs in a less desirable part of town and found out he also had to pay for the lady's time and the table rental. Four drinks cost him $200 and there were 3 huge enforcers to ensure prompt payment. Check on all charges before entry.

All the prices have stayed the same in pesos so everything is 25% of what it used to be. In addition the people don't have a lot of money any more and a lot of "amateurs" have entered the ranks of the SP's. Almost every bar we went to, except for the hotel bars and a few pubs, had SP's in it, not just the girly bars. At first I did not even realize what they were. We just saw pretty single women, alone or in pairs, sitting at tables with a coffee. I was there in the first bar for a while before I realized that every one of my admiring glances, to almost every woman, was being returned with more enthusiasm than is justified by my handsome face and 47-year-old physique (lol). The first night in town we did not pursue it due to a very early flight but, on the last night our travel schedule allowed for a late night out.
Two days later we went back to these bars and chatted with some of the ladies in our broken Spanish and their limited English. We met girls from Ecuador, Brazil and Argentina in their late 20's and 30's. Generally reasonably attractive and presentable. One or two were quite nice. One of my friends discussed prices with one girl and she quoted 150 pesos, now equivalent to $42 US. But we decided to pass and go see how things have changed in the girly clubs. Wow!
Still the same old price structure but that $30 round for you and her has become an $8.50 round. We had gone to the most highly recommended (i.e. safe) club in the area and there were a lot of very nice ladies, milling around in a cocktail bar atmosphere, all available for a chat or take out. We chatted with many, listened to a bad lounge singer and watched a pretty young woman dance with no removal of clothing. English skills were limited as the bar seems to serve mostly local businessmen.
I selected a very attractive, lithe and slender 31-year-old, naturally-blond Brazilian woman (a lot of the women from southern Brazil to Argentina are ethnically northern European) named Sonia I think. (I wish my short-term memory was better). We chatted and danced for a while, me practising my broken Spanish, and her, her bad English. After a time a price was discussed and I was surprised, $100 US for 2 hours back at my hotel. Don't worry she says, loving doesn't require good language skills and she is a very good time. So off we go with me wondering how I'm going to get her in. I've never hired an SP and brought her to a hotel before, let alone in a foreign country.
