The rational people of New York want Amazon back. (AOC must be pissed.)

It will be interesting to see how the DNC reacts to this. It's getting clearer that AOC's value isn't going to be what they'd hoped, it could be a chance for them to hang her out to dry without looking like they did.The rational people of New York want Amazon back. (AOC must be pissed.)

If I am the CEO of Amazon, I still won't move to NYC. Who wants AOC in his backyard and the hassle and waste of time dealing with that maniac and her supporters? It will be interesting to see how the DNC reacts to this. On the other side of the coin have you seen what these tech hubs do to cities. If I am the CEO of Amazon, I still won't move to NYC. Who wants AOC in his backyard and the hassle and waste of time dealing with that maniac and her supporters?
We 're also getting the same kind of complaints here in Toronto as well. These highly skilled and highly paid jobs are leaving lesser skilled people unemployable and high house prices are leaving people homeless. Maybe we should stop encouraging the tech and movie industries to come here?On the other side of the coin have you seen what these tech hubs do to cities.
Look up the homeless crisis in Seattle, Portland and San Francisco to see what happens.
Now that you brought it up. What do Seattle, Portland and San Francisco have in common politically?Look up the homeless crisis in Seattle, Portland and San Francisco to see what happens.
Won't happen. Politicians #1 concern is keeping the gravy flowing. They don't care about the future well-being of the country and it's citizens. We 're also getting the same kind of complaints here in Toronto as well. These highly skilled and highly paid jobs are leaving lesser skilled people unemployable and high house prices are leaving people homeless. Now I didn't say that did I? But city planners need to account for low level workers. Or where will the Baristas, servers, cleaners, hairdressers etc live who service these folks? And as well where will the needed mom and pop hair salons etc set up when the square footage is sky high?We 're also getting the same kind of complaints here in Toronto as well. These highly skilled and highly paid jobs are leaving lesser skilled people unemployable and high house prices are leaving people homeless. Add in LA and San Diego. But beyond politics it's also alot warmer there. Now that you brought it up. What do Seattle, Portland and San Francisco have in common politically?
You're not that far off the mark Darts even though your pov is reactionary. Queens has been using Toronto as their economic role model: cultural diversity and innovation. Putting a monolith like Amazon there, with tax incentives would crush the local economy, AOC isn't wrong. Queens economy is booming, outpacing that of Brooklyn's, it's both an innovation and transport hub. John F Kennedy Airport is located there. The outlying areas of Nassau County are the ones complaining about the loss of Amazon.AOC could easily replace Amazon with some mom and pop shoe stores, mom and pop video rental stores, mom and pop film photo print stores, tattoo parlors, etc. There's a lot of possibilities. Who needs Amazon? Ok, I'm joking.
Yes, virtually the entire state of California. Have you heard of the "homeless tax"? No, its not a tax on the homeless.Add in LA and San Diego.
