Thanks,

I've purchased books from amazon. Prices are great. I usually go to Chapters to browse through the books and then go home and buy them on amazon. I've never purchased any thing used nor have I purchased anything except books....just new books.

way out in left field
I ordered something through them (the original transformers movie in Blu Ray) and it was through one of their vendors and the item never arrived and I never received any communication from the vendor. They immediately gave me a refund with zero hassle.

I've had nothing but great experiences. I have a Chapters/Indigo rewards card, so will always cross-check prices, but when Amazon comes out ahead, I have had no problem with shipping and receipt of the orders.

amazon.ca is better than chaptersindigo.ca in terms of price. I usually read the bulk of the books at chapters before purchasing on line at amazon.

And amazon kicks butt on new textbooks purchase....assuming you cannot find or don't want the hassle at ebay.ca

Plus, if you are an airmiles member, you will earn extra airmiles at airmiles shops,

the hobby needs more capitalism
I purchase a lot of products from Amazon.ca. Solid, great experience.

However, I have three complaints:

1) Their prices, especially on sale items is not written in stone. I've seen an item on sale I wanted to purchase but needed to do research first. I return a few hours later and it's at a new price. Not the original price but not as low as the first sale price.
2) Their search engine is no Google. It's not very accurate when sorting by price or within a category. I've had $40 items show up in a search filtered for $25 or below. I've had DVD's show up when searching in their Blu Ray category only.
3) They do not price match after the sale. They used to and discontinued it.

I've bought from them and have no complaints. They ship faster than Chapters/Indigo does on the 'free shipping over $39" option.

I purchase from them all the time and have never had any problems. I received an order just yesterday in fact. I always purchase at least $39 so the shipping is free and I normally receive it within 1-2 business days.

The only issue I ever had was one time the corner of a hard cover was bashed in, as if the package had been dropped on that corner. I filled out some paperwork online, printed off an order label, returned it to Amazon (free), and they sent me a new one at no cost. Excellent service.

I love the pricing - it can't be beat and have always been happy with their shipping.

Well, I wouldn't say that. Amazon.com's pricing is about 30% less and often you can find their DVD deals cheaper at Inetvideo etc........

I buy from Amazon frequently...no problem. Good price, good delivery system...
If you are interested in used books and/or collecting books, try abebooks.com It is a Canadian company that networks used and antiquarian book sellers from around the world. I have bought a number of books from them and they are excellent. Not the best place for current books but if you are looking for out of print books they can't be beat.

you buy more than 30 or 40 dollars worth at a time and then you get free shipping.

Simple... no added expense of having a store to service the customer, to stock it, and no need for add'l employees etc. Save $ on heat, hydro etc as well.

I bought the Kindle and a bunch of digital books, they are great. Also bought other items in the past.
Delivery is fast, price is good.
The only thing is they will keep sending you email afterward for promotional items.
