We could have an entire thread on noise complaints.

1) Piano player next door.
2) Loud motorcycles/cars/trucks.
3) Barking dogs.
4) Many other noise sources.

There was a recent murder right here in Toronto over a noise complaint.

I have to admit, my dogs sometimes bark and in the summer, I’m standing outside with them which stops the barking completely. In the winter I am right by the door and if I hear a peep, I’m out there stopping it. I hate barking dogs and yet I have them. But again, I deal with it and do my best to make sure it doesn’t happen. I don’t leave them out barking like crazy.

Same with at my trailer. I’m up at 4/5am to head out fishing. No way I am having a barking dog wake someone up at that hour.

Out here in Durham; you have a 20 minute period, but what is stupid is, the dog has to be barking for 20 mins straight. Non stop. So if they pause for even a minute, you have to start over again. Which is stupid. Dogs pause their barking all the time but yet can still bark for 20 mins straight. A minute pause is nothing

We found out when we called animal control on a neighbour. Myself and 3 other households had to call police one night at 2am because two dogs were left in the backyard barking. They got it to stop that night but suggested we call animal control. We did and this is what we were told.

I don’t know Torontos laws on barking.
