The problem with any of those apps, should they exist, is that there's still an electronic record of your usage. You sign up for that number with your phone.

Now, if this is a "keep everything away from friends and family" hobby phone, no big deal. Unless you go through a divorce and there is a discovery phase where they subpoena your phone's full records and dig into your apps and such, you're fine. If you're trying to keep from LE in the event things get more legally dangerous in this hobby... get a hobby phone. Pay the extra ~$30/month and maintain security. And pay with cash.

you can use a voip service like magicjack or Skype but you'll need to pay for a incoming local phone number. Then you can install the app on your regular mobile to receive calls or if not then you'll need to use your computer with a mic.

Fongo, you even get VM. Set up a new email Addy. You never know the future. I used textplus and TextNow but only for texting.

It's not Free, but the Burner App lets you create plenty of new numbers and then discard them after you are done so that there is no record:
