Wow! Chelsea is the greatest club in the universe, all others should forfeit to Champions Cup to them...according to the announcers. If they run into Barcelona they're going to get skinned
That's what they said in 2012...Who won that beautiful trophy in Germany? Becareful what you wish for...

Sepp Blatter: The Ass Whisperer.

So both Blatter and Michel Platini get suspended for corruption for 90. Something had to be done, Platini fixed the 2016 Euro bid in France's favour, if he became FIFA President it would be funny business as usual. It will eventually come out that the 2018 and 2022 WC bids were bought and paid for. And it's going to get messy if the Qatar bid is revoked. Eventually Blatter will go into exile. He's been living in the lap of luxury, Putin will have to give up one of his palaces, he will keep his benefactor from the hardships of daily life.

There will be a change in the best player of 2015-16 and the usual candidates may not be involved: it could be between Robert Lewandowski and Lorenzo Insigne.

Looks like a certain team in orange will go crashing out today.

Ah well, such is life

That's shocking to me, I watched the match, I've never seen the Oranje in such disarray. They need another Ernst Happel to put things right.

I don't understand why Italy is in Pool B, they went undefeated. I'll wager that any team in Pool A is dreading the idea of Italy in their group - especially England. Conte rested Verratti vs Norway, the offense didn't click until Gio got into the match. Beautiful lob to Pelle for the second goal, much to FC's chagrin he's booked his ticket to France.

The Impact were taking cheap shots at Gio, if the refs are going to let that pass Montreal will eliminate FC in the playoffs.

After watching the Milan-Sassuolo match I can understand why Jurgen Kloop covets Dom Berardi. The Emiliani were down a man and nearly played the Rossoneri to a draw. He doesn't give up the ball, his passing is exquisite and his dead ball skills are second to none. I doubt Juve will allow a transfer to Liverpool. A front line of Pogba, Dybala, Morata and Berardi would be a nightmare for opponents.

El Clasico: Barcelona 4 Real Madrid 0 ...can someone explain to me again why Real fired Carlino?

Benitez made some critical mistakes in his tactics, the most obvious is leaving is leaving Isco on the bench in the first half. He is much tougher than either Kroos or Danilo and would have given Modric better support. Real got smocked in midfield. And the discussion of who is the best player is a moot point. CR7 doesn't drop deep to support his midfield an item that Messi does consistently. Iniesta, has great as he's been, is getting long in the tooth to be the full time trequartista. Eventually Messi will assume that role, it suits him. Barca are scary good...I don't like Roma's chances.

Madrid have stupid management, they pretty much fire their coach every year regardless of results.
I remember Capello got fired in 1997 after he won La Liga. Disgusting!!

real were on the verge of bankruptcy when Capello took over. He made some significant moves that set Real up to win three Champions Cups. Two notables are making Hierro captain and stealing Roberto Carlos from Inter. And for his productivity he got fired.

As a very good friend of mine in the Sweet Land of the Righteous (Catalonia) says on his publication:

How would you feel about Pogba in that role?

Barcelona 6 Roma 1...so what else is new.

Thanks to European Fair Play Rules Roma sold defenders Astori to Fiorentina and the prodigy Romagnioli to Milan. This will be a recurring theme until their new stadium comes online sometime in 2017. Only then will we start to possibly serve dishes cold.

La Giostra del Gol reported that ManU scouts were in Empoli to look at Riccardo Saponara.

Watching them against Leicester I can see why. They are too slow on the attack, they need a distributor to put some zip in their offense. Saponara was at AC Milan last year as a trequartista but he was not quick enough for that position. As a deep distributor at Empoli he has prospered. Milan still own his rights, they've seen the error of their ways. If ManU want him on the January transfer window, he wont come cheap.

It seems Real made a little boo-boo with their line up today for the Copa del Ray. May be eliminated.

"Huh? What do I know about rules?"

It seems Real made a little boo-boo with their line up today for the Copa del Ray. May be eliminated.
Real Madrid to appeal Copa del Rey elimination, confident of success

Real Madrid are confident they will successfully appeal their disqualification from the Copa del Rey.

Real Madrid have confirmed they will appeal their disqualification from the Copa del Rey and have expressed their confidence of achieving a successful resolution.
Rafael Benitez's men were eliminated from the competition after fielding the suspended Denis Cheryshev in the first leg of their round-of-32 tie against Cadiz on Wednesday.
The Russia midfielder started and scored in the 3-1 victory - before being farcically brought off in the first minute of the second half - despite being yet to serve a ban for receiving three yellow cards in last season's competition when on loan at Villarreal.
Cadiz submitted an official complaint to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) after the match, but Madrid insisted they had not been notified that the player was ineligible and were therefore not to blame.
However, the RFEF announced on Friday that they have been expelled from the competition with immediate effect.
Madrid released a statement in response, saying: "Real Madrid have received the decision of the competition committee chief at 18:17 and the club has come to the conclusion that it is acknowledged the RFEF has not personally notified the player Cheryshev, which is the only way for a sanction to take effect, as per article 41.2 of the disciplinary code.
"Real Madrid confirm it will take the necessary steps and is confident the final verdict will be favourable to the club."
The RFEF's statement announcing the ban read: "Real Madrid have been found guilty of fielding an ineligible player, Denis Cheryshev, in the home match against Cadiz on December 2.
"The outcome of the Copa del Rey [tie] has consequently been decided in favour of Cadiz, with an additional fine of €6,001 for Madrid as per article 76 of the disciplinary code of the RFEF.
"Cheryshev's one-match suspension has been served in the game in question. This decision can be appealed with the Appeals Committee within 10 days of the notification of the verdict."

So here's the latest hot rumour.

Andrea Barzagli's contract with Juve expires at the end of the season, he will not be offered an extension. He could be Toronto FC bound.

Juve are unwilling to loan out prospect Daniele Rugani and risk losing him to an oil club. He's due to be a starter, it's time for Barzagli to move on.

Another is that Barcelona are interested in Alessio Bernardeshi, but I wouldn't put much stock in that. He's playing very well for Fiorentina, his confidence would be ruined siting on the bench.

Real Madrid's appeal was denied - out of the Copa. Maybe they should get a new fax machine while they are at it.

Maurizio Sarri > Rafa Benitez

And it almost didn't happen, Di Laurentiis wanted Jurgen Kloop to coach his club. The German took the money to coach an inferior team. Under Sarri, Napoli are playing the most attractive football in Europe. A disciple of the Dutch system of total football, Sarri stresses fitness and offense. The players have bought in. They completely outclassed their group in the Europa league scoring 22 goals. I hope Napoli draw Liverpool in the 32 knockout phase so that they can give Kloop a healthy dose of regret.

Grazie Real for taking Rafa and for giving us Gonzalo Higuain.
