Continuing the tradition of the last couple of years and with the start of the EPL in a couple of days I thought I would start up this again. So many questions to answer a great upcoming season, can Man City repeat? how good is Man Utd? will Liverpool be back amongst the elite, and holy crap I just read that Arsenal have sold AVP to Man Utd!! If I was them I would take that money, take my lumps till January and get Ferdinand Llorente from Athletic Bilbao when he walks away for absolutely nothing as his contract ends.

oh yeah and apparently there are rumours of other countries have leagues of their own, something about Spain, Italy or Germany, I overheard people talking about it, didnt really pay attention :D

That's funny.

I always heard rhetoric about England having a so-so futbol league. However, no one takes it very seriously as very few 'English' players actually play there.

yeah thankfully we put a stop to that about 20 years ago, ITV will sometimes carry matches from the late 70's or early 80's and outside of the ones which show Liverpool when they dominated the league, they are completely unwatchable as the quality of soccer is just awful, thank you Zola, Ginola and their likes.

But seriously I am not sure Man Utd was smart in dropping 24 mil on RVP, a player with great talent but so injury prone as having played something like 170 matches only in the last 7 years.

Can't wait for the new season to start for the Toon Army ( NUFC) ! after last season's suprise finish, I'm hoping we can add a few more pieces to the team, and possibly a top4 result at seasons end...

Hard to figure this one out, and I am an Arsenal and RVP fan. I am thinking that it might be more than footballing reasons, perhaps they needed a big name signing to show their fans that they will not be overshadowed by the noisy neighbour whom initially showed interest.

Should be an interesting year in the EPL, hopefully it can match the drama of last season. Chelsea and 'Pool should be better, and Toon Army have kept their players while City have stood still. As of now Spurs don't have Adebayor and are likely to lose Modric (YAY!). Arsenal lost RVP and added three quality players but last year I thought Arsenal was going down to mid-table after losing Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy so who knows. It's amazing how Arsenal lose their best players every year going back to Viera in 2005 nad they still manage to get top 4.

I see Fox Soccer Report has been cancelled. I'm gonna miss my 10pm roundup. And especially Bobby McM. Anyone heard if there' will be a comparable replacement?

Fox Soccer was killed off when it's channel had really no chance to exist any more, EPL is on Sportsnet and it's offshoots, La Liga is on Gol and Serie is between TLN and The Score, I agree buttercup of all the nonsense on that channel, that was the only worthy show on it. There is a real problem in this country when Bell and Rogers can get away with charging nearly 20 bucks for a single channel, the former Setanta now Sportsnet World, there is no way I am paying that much for a single channel. I see that Sportsnet has made the EPL available online.

I agree roadhog that is a great site and always first go for any sports event, but I wish someone would find a way to stream games this way without it looking like a 1983 VCR recording, but it's free so really shouldnt complain. Anyways Suarez is looking great so far :)

Seeing RvP in a United shirt feels weird tbh.

Heres hoping we take back the title from City.

The Toffees defeating The Great Satan makes me very happy. Good luck with RVP, like Ibrahimovic, he is not a money player.

Italian football has to stop slapping its scrotum. Juventus Manager Antonio Conte got a ten month ban for not being a whistle blower. The fact that he was promptly fired from Atalanta didn't enter into the verdict. Events at the Olympics suggest that the governing bodies do not care about match fixing so why must calcio continue to air its dirty laundry?

as long as I read about any soccer in Canada and the words Gerry Dobson arent mentioned I consider that a good thing, wow who saw the Toffees beating Man U like that? a few missed chances, a couple of harsh calls and then you get WBA beating Liverpool 3-0, oh well that's how it rolls. And what is it with this wackiness that the Canadian rights to Serie A or La Liga have not been settled? I dont have cable, but from what I am hearing no La Liga games were aired and with Serie A not being on the Score any more, it's just bizarre that we will not get 2 top leagues here.

an extremely entertaining Liverpool-Man City match today, it's too bad the Reds gifted City the point but I saw a lot of good things to be hopeful about, Joe Allen looks like the real deal, what a great debut by 17 year old Raheem Sterling and now with the addition of Nuri Sahin on loan Real, that midfield looks awesome.

RM loses to little club Getafe and Messi scores two vs. Osasuna.

That second leg on Wednesday looks awfully enticing.....

With only one point out of six, Madrid has much more serious La Liga issues. They could care less about the second leg, which looks to be a boring affair.

BTW, is it final there will be no La Liga matches on GolTV this season? If so, then I will just cancel my subscription. Didnt get Gol to be inundated with MLS. And if not on Gol, is there any other channel to watch La Liga in the GTa?
the rights to La Liga and Serie A have been bought out by a station called beIN Sport based out of Qatar, unfortunately they have not sub licensed to a Canadian station or made one of their own here like they have in the US

http://www.beinsport.tv/

so until this gets resolved no Serie A or La Liga in Canada, we will have to enjoy the delights of MLSE FC on GOL TV, the soccer message boards across the net are livid with this as we cannot get 2 of the top leagues in this country.
