Alec Baldwin leaves msg for his daughter

Also a nuclear divorce from Kim Basinger as well as a contentious continuing custody battle of which this episode is obviously part. His visitation rights have been temporarily suspended and a Family Court hearing is scheduled for the week after next.
I have sympathy for Baldwin. You have to ask yourself: how did the recording find its way to TMZ.com? The editor of TMZ said today that he got it legally and that Baldwin's daughter wanted it out there.
So obviously she gave it direct (unlikely) or with her mother's consent (Kim's lawyer was involved so it's door number two).
Is this in the best interests of the daughter in any way???? What kind of idiot is Kim Basinger for releasing this?
In GQ a few months back, much of the back story of this was revealed and poor Baldwin has given everything to be in this girl's life and Basinger has done everything to deny him that right.
Bottom line: there's probably much more to this story. Either way, Basinger is an idiot for releasing that tape. It can only lead to more problems for the daughter and simply alienates everyone from everyone. I highly doubt Baldwin is anything but a heart-broken father who wants to be with his daughter. All he gets is a phone call with her, and she doesn't even have the thing on. I'm sure lots of us can relate.

Bassinger has been a washed up nobody since she was about 38.

It sounds like the mother and daughter are both such pathetic losers that the only thing they can do is tee up Baldwin with stupid second rate pranks to drive him crazy.
The mother is an angry, bitter, loser nobody; and, the daughter is well on her way to being the same because she has to live with her loser mother.

Ding ding ding!!! There's the question right there. It's a phone message. Someone (the child? The MOM?) wanted to make very sure that dad looked as bad as possible. My first thought was "Sure it's out of line, but it's a private message, not intended for anyone's ears but the recipient. Who decided this needed to become public tabloid fodder?
