Airport vs. Downtown

So I'm considering staying near the airport, which seems to offer better value and choices as far as hotels.

For those of you who know: Will this seriously affect my choice of SPs? Are many/most willing to make the trip (most notably Cupids and Mirage)? (I prefer outcall.)

With the higher rates and ridiculous parking charges, it seems like it'll be cheaper to pay the SPs a few more bucks to come to me. That said, it it curtails my choices too much, I'll just go downtown.

Thanks to all for your advice.

Airport hotels are definitely better value (I regularly get 4* hotels on priceline for$ 70-100). Outcalls to the airport area are routine for all the major agencies. Expect to add 20-30 to the rate for the extra travel time.

The airport area is a bit of a wasteland frankly. It's bleak and there's very little there. Usually guys who are just passing through stay out there.

If you're going to be here for more than a day, I'd go with downtown just for the simple reason that once your done boning, you can at least have something to do.

Agree with this too. Despite good value, the airport area is completely devoid of anything remotely close to interesting restaurants, bars shopping etc. I stay out there frequently, but only to catch an early flight nwhe I am coming to TO for a visit, I will definitely stay DT.

"the" airport is Pearson (PiA) A 50-60 dollar cab ride from DT.

The DT airport is the small, island airport. Great place to fly from, but only serves short haul flights (nothing further than~ 2h).

If someone refers to the airport area, they mean Pearson.

I suppose I am stating the obvious, but if you have access to a car and know the area there is a lot to do (restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping, etc.) in the west end within a short drive of the airport. I mean, that just figures given the size of the population living out that way. Downtown Toronto is nice to visit, but if I am just in town for a night it rarely makes sense to waste the time and money and to fight the traffic to go there. How much can you see in one afternoon / evening, anyway?

I have a question about the airport hotels though ... has anyone tried the new Pearson Alt hotel yet? Is it nice, is it an outcall friendly place?
