Not likely. For now everything AI says needs to be verified. Seems more work for humans.

I think it's a slow year, or maybe years for the tech. Keeping the home fire burning nonetheless. Until quantum computing or something else moves the goal post for everything.

The thing to note about "AI" is that all it's good for is imitation via theft of others property and I predict there will be severe battles going forward on IP rights.

Current AI doesn't actually create anything new it simply looks at what you ask for and then looks throught its database for the appropriate answer and tweaks said answer based on the parameters provided. But because corps are chasing the next hit of investor cocaine they will bullshit how great "AI" integration is and hodgepodge it into anything they can.

And because its database is pretty much all of the internet this will lead to a fuckton of misinformation and oddities that can't be relied on as well as so much plagiarism.

The best thing is to start using what's available and figure out how it can help your current job. Then you'll be one of the people that's used to AI-assisted work as that becomes the expectation.

Saw on the news that AI could one day be more intelligent than humans and could be misused by bad people to do bad stuff.

While AI has brought numerous advancements and efficiencies to various industries, there are concerns about its potential impact on job displacement. As AI technology continues to evolve, certain routine and repetitive tasks may become automated, leading to shifts in the job market. However, many experts also emphasize the potential for AI to create new job opportunities, particularly in fields related to AI development, implementation, and maintenance.

Some think it may eventually hit knowledge workers also. These workers were largely spared earlier disruptions.

AI has the potential to augment knowledge workers by automating routine tasks, enabling them to focus on higher-level analysis and decision-making. Additionally, AI can enhance information retrieval and synthesis, leading to more efficient and insightful knowledge generation and sharing among professionals.

"“Also, this AI situation is really critical, because first it will replace all the background actors, next it will replace all of the character actors, then they’ll build up movie stars from scratch, then eventually the bigger stars will get replaced by these new things,” said the Boyhood actress."

BTW: I saw Scarlett Johannson at one of the previous TIFF's. She is really short.
