Not that I'm necessarily looking for one (am I?). But I'm just curious about whether the AI programs are really smart enough to make her seem like a real girlfriend. Does she truly get to know you, understand your jokes, remember all your stories? Does she react to the things you say like a real human? If you insult her, will she get pissed off? If you say it as a joke only, will she know that you are just kidding around? Does she perk up when you say something surprising? Does she get bored when you ramble aimlessly and then is smart enough to steer the conversation into something better? Anyone who knows first hand?

I'm not sure about this. I tell her a joke copied off from some stand-up comedian. She gives no reaction and talks about something because the AI's job is to fill in the silence. I ask if she found it funny. If she says yes, then why didn't she react? If she says no, then why did the whole audience laugh when the stand-up said it? Something's not right here. And I'm paying tokens for each word she says? I'll wait for confirmation about how smart she really is before I sign up.

If you are in a middle of a chess move and need to concentrate, just don't reply to her and she won't get upset, unlike a real girlfriend who will force you to stay on the phone for hours. You talk to her when you want to. Is this cheapening the girlfriend concept here? Maybe. One of the reasons why I do have doubts about all this.

Maybe some people are socially inept? The AI will continue talking to you know matter how crappy your conversation skills are. Then again, it may make you think you are more socially skillful than you really are, and then when you apply it to the real world you get the wtf reactions.

To be honest you probably would prefer not see guys that prefer AI. Like you i don’t judge ghem but I seriously think they have problem to solve that should not involve an escort.
