I thought this may be an intersting poll: Is aging harder on men or women. It will be sex specific. Ladies, very interested in your views since your profession is very dependant on looks.

Definately harder on women..I think their bodies go through more with child bearing, and the stress of taking care of the kids.
But then as a male the stress of taking care of his family...equal stress, different ways, but women seem to age quicker

Aging is 10 times harder for women

What I love about being a man is you can boink younger women well into your 60's. Women like a guy with some grey hair and wrinkles, but when's the last time you saw a woman with grey hair and wrinkles that looked hot??

Just the other day I got on my elevator with a 70-year old dude and his smoking hot wife who looks no older than 35. Mind you he's rich, but still.
And when I say smoking I mean smoking hot!! She's a head-turner

As cliche as it is, women's clocks do tick faster than men. I've dated women who pretend not to care about having children, etc but in reality they did. Having kids after 40 is pretty risky for women and I think it's more instinctual for women to want them than men.

In fact, that's really all they want. It's just a better scenario for them if there's a man around they can hand the bills to. Women want their children, they just don't want to have to pay for the 'care and maintenance' of them.

I can't even count the amount of relationships I've been in that are all lovey dovey but as soon as I bring up the fact that children are not a priority for me (to test said waters) the lovey dovey switch goes to OFF. If I find a woman enticing enough to form a home and family with her, I'm all for it. I just believe the relationship between both is more important. Children are a product of a good relationship. They are not the ONLY thing. Most women just want the children, in a relationship or not, so long as there is some guy around that has to pay the bills.

I also know of a few relationships where, since the man didn't have the baby-making potion needed, the woman walked immediately. So much for "better or for worse". It's not what SHE wanted. Geez, I thought that if you loved a man enough to marry him, a woman would stick by him wether he could have kids or not.

Most women are just: "I want my Baby. Don't bother me with details".

Aging is harder on men. Proof is relatively simple - go to an "old folks home" and see how many wives have outlived their husbands or another way to look at it 75% of the people over 80 who are still walking are women.

I'm not sure if that is really good evidence. Men tend to take more risks, eat worse, drink more, do more drugs, etc etc.

That is hollywood...poor sample population. You have to look good to be successful in hollywood...and continue to look good if you an old man/women for continued success. The aged actors/actresses are also over produced to look good.

Harder on women no doubt.

Several Medical, psycological, and superficial reasons.

Yes but there are worse things then dying . As long as the "the old folks home " allows "visits " I'll hang in (LOL).

As men age, it is easier for them to maintain their look of virility/sexiness. It takes a lot more work for women in terms of lifestyle (exercise and diet), makeup, hair, clothing etc. to stay sexy as they age. I know this is a generalization but I think it holds true for the most part. It's easier for a man.

As far as lifespan, well the above post is about right.

The average 50 year man will almost certainly look younger than a 50 year old women does more often than not. Some argue this is one of the many reasons why men will marry a woman on average 4-5 years younger than them.

That's because men typically don't run to the doctor every time we get the sniffles, an ache or pain, (or in my case) cut through their finger with a cut off blade on a grinder. It was about 6 yrs ago and someone had done a scientific study of this and they determined this was the cause.

I have found that in their youth, women tend to look better than men. I think this is mother nature's way of insuring the species survives. But I have also found that really attractive younger women, "hit the wall" and their looks fade. Men on the other hand, tend to look better when we age. Now this being said before obesity became a real issue here and the US.

As for older women vs older men: It isn't that difficult for a woman to take care of themselves even during and after child birth. There are thousands of examples of women who did this and a) during their pregnancy you couldn't tell they were pregnant from behind and b) took care of themselves after the baby was born. I have found that (maybe my tastes have matured as well?) there are more women in their late 40's and 50's who look awesome than before. The sun recently had a series of "in praise of older women" photos and they were pretty fricken HOT.

As for older men with young hotties, the thing is: if a guy can produce sperm and an erection, he can make a baby. There is a cut off age where women can't have kids anymore. So yeah, if a young hottie finds a well off, reasonably attractive 60 yr old, they can still have a family. On this same note I was reading something recently how more 20 something hotties are bored with 20 something guys and are looking to older guys because we tend to be more established, mature, level headed and gentlemen. hooray for us! lol

As for asian women and black women aging better:

Dude, have you SEEN older asian woman? OMFG NOT. I have found that asian women in their 40's now, look horrible compared to caucasian women. Now maybe the next generation coming up will tend to take better care of themselves but I live very close to an asian community and "shudder" there are no attractive 40 somethings IMO.

Duh! Men obviously

There are many valid points here, but the way the poll is worded, there can only be one answer. Clearly aging is harder on men

We Die!

Every stat I have ever read, pretty much everywhere in the world, women who live past child bearing outlive men by long shot. Just walk through any nursing home.
