Are the fighters in Affliction the "has-been" of UFC. I can't believe Belfort still wants to fight! This is an exciting match to watch between Fedor and Arlovski. I want to go to Arlovski but he has a soft chin and one slight punch from Fedor will send him to la la land. Fedor has a strong armour and I don't see him losing to Arlovski. My bet: Fedor in 2.

Fedor by swarming standup, G'n'P and possibly submission if Arlovski somehow avoids the TKO.

Barnett by submission - unless Yvel goes WWE and gets DQ'd for idiocy.

Lindland by boredom.

Babalu by submission or G'n'P stoppage.

Horodecki via decision over Lauzon (should be an exciting fight, but "The Polish Hammer" [Ivan Putski?!] has fought a higher level of competition.)

After Fedor-Arlovski, the fight I most want to see is Lil' Nog vs Matyushenko. It's a pick 'em for me.

I think Rogerio has it over the janitor, but it's closer to a pick 'em than any other fight IMO. Arlovski has the potential to give Fedor a bad night if he strikes smart and avoids the clinch/sambo game. I still pick Fedor, but I'm prepared to see Arlovski KO/TKO just because the sport is at that time.

Your picks look good, but if old Vitor shows up, he can TKO Lindland.
I hope Barnett puts on a show.

Fedor over Arlovski in the first round. Fedor is still the machine and will win easily. Like others have mentioned, arlovski has a softer than average chin. This may affect how he tries to defend against fedor. I expect Fedor to rush arlovski as soon as the round starts. after taking him to the ground, he will wail on him until the referee stops it.

Of the fights where I have some knowledge of the fighters, I'll go with Barnett, Lindland, Sobral, Horodecki, and Nogueira.

i hope Arlovski wins. Fedor is an amazing fighter, and I am a fan of his, but he fights way too little. Last fight was Tim Silvia July 19th 2008, Hong Man Choi December 31st 2007. I'm not sure if he's waiting for the best pay days, but hopefully by losing, it puts him into a situation to fight more to gain back his credibility.

I guess I just want to see him fight more often. Even 3 times a year would be good. Most UFC champs fight around 3 times a year

As much as I like Arlovski his chin just will not hold up to Fedor's power. Fedor has no weaknesses to exploit. His ground is excellent. His standup is top notch and although he doesn't look it his conditioning is second to none. Plus he has a great chin. Maybe if there's one thing it's that he cuts easy. Given all that I say good luck to Arlovski because with his somewhat weak chin he's going to need a miracle.

As for the Barnett-Yvel bout. I don't think Josh will want to stand with him to long so I look for him to take it to the ground and a sub win.

Belfort has great hands but lousy cardio. Lindland will will most likely just wait him out and as previously posted bore us to a unaminous decision.

Sokoudjou-babalu. Sok has shown great things early in most of his fights but the gas tank runs dry after that. Babalu is a smart fighter and has a great edge in experience. I say Babalu by a third round stoppage.

In a rush so just short and sweet predictions:

Fedor by TKO in the second.....or submission...

Lindland by Decision over Belfort

Barnett submission victory over Yvel

Sobral submits Sokoudjou in the third

Nog submits Matuyushenko in the second...

Sorry about the spelling...Rushing off to catch the fights...;)

Ok Fedor won, but did you hear what the commentators were saying? Something to the effect of "Fedor has made Andre and Tim look like they shouldn't even be in the ring with him?" Were we watching the same fight? Arlovski was winning the fight, for some reason or the other, he thought he would throw a flying knee which obviously went wrong. Why throw a flying knee, leaving himself exposed to the calibre of fighter like Fedor, I don't know. But, you have to be blind if you think Fedor was doing well up untill that point.

Way to go Fedor, but Arlovski screwed himself

Fedor said afterward that Arlovski was prone to making mistakes and when he saw the flying knee coming that was the opening he needed. One punch later and the fight is over. Arlovski tries the high risk tactic and pays dearly for it. Logic dictates that Barnett would be next up for Fedor but he says he doesn't want to fight him because they are friends and this is assuming that Affliction is even around for another card. Which is not a given.

On a side note, what about Belfort. He just turned his whole career around in a few seconds. Lets just hope he passes the drug test so we can see more of the new Vitor.

Yeah the flying knee attempt was probably ill-advised at that stage.

On the other hand, Arlovski must have felt understndable pressure to gamble and do some damage to Fedor while the opportunity seemed to be there.

I guess you have to credit Fedor's "aura" for prompting that impatience by Arlovski.
