saliksalik,
No one will be scared of your scars. Just tell them its your "War wound" and it will make for a great story. I wish you all the best as i have been through what you are going through myself in a son's eyes. If you need any advice or cadio recommendations I'll be happy to discuss this through PM or offline. All I can say it is I lived through this painful experience and would do things much differently today had I known what I know today. Watch your legs heal properly and make sure you walk as much as possible but until you heal take it easy, watch your diet and get plenty of rest.

"No sex for 4 weeks, unless I was with another woman, in which case I had to wait 8 weeks."
I gather that means wild sex put more strain in one's heart than
routine sex with the SO. I wonder if a slow and teasing HJ with a hot
MPA could be more potentially risky. The OP could ask his cardiologist
if visiting MP is one of the don'ts to avoid.

1. Regarding the scars, chicks dig scars.
2. Post heart op, take up marathon running, some kind of full contact blood sport, cocaine only on weekdays, and start arguments with everyone as much as possible.
3. Forget #2 or anything resembling it.
Thanks form making me forget the # 2,

And if it is not a cliche, thanks to all again.
Cheers

Of course East Indians have elevated cardiovascular risks.
Ok, so we agree E.I.'s have a greater risk of a cardiovascular event. BTW: I also asked Ameena if she is E.I. and she appreciated the info that she is at greater risk because of her genetics.

Our fellow TERBIE saliksalik said he had Quad Bypass without any SIGNS and WARNING. If he is E.I., then genetics could be a reason. At the risk of bring politically incorrect, I suggest all E.I.'s on this Board get a heart health checkup. I think a healthy heart is far more important than some silly notion of politically correctness.

I'm sure if SalikSalik were EI he'd appreciate hearing the news from you Doctor Obvious. just in case his cardiologist didn't tell him already.
Saliksalik can speak for himself and he already did. He thanked me for asking.

Ameena, who is an ethnic E.I. born in Egypt, was NOT told by her doctor that E.I.'s are genetically predisposed to heart disease (which she has) and she appreciated the info that I provided to her.

Sounds like an excellent book. Read some of the readers' comments. I don't think there are any big secrets about preventing heart disease. Just adopt the diet and lifestyle of a Chinese peasant. Heart disease is a "White Man's" disease because we have terrible diets (too much sugar, salt and fat) and a sedentary lifestyle (couch potato). The only factor you can't control is genetics.

Nothing politically correct about my observation, just read my math again.
I would suggest based on the follwoing study that South Asian, and Whites in Canada, have about the equal percent of Cardiovascular incidences. The differnce is actually statistically negligible. Which means that both South Asains and Whites should give due consideration to their heart care. No issue of political correctness.
BTW in my Cardiac Rehab group the majority is that of Whites. That may mean that South Asians either do not survive the heart disease or do not care about post treatment rehab. That would be very silly of them.

WrONG......................... DONT BE STUPID

READ THIS FROM YOUR VERY OWN LINK

The high risk of heart disease found in the South Asian population is consistent with previous research in other countries, according to Tu. The study authors cite previous research that shows that the high risk may be linked to South Asians' relatively high susceptibility to insulin resistance and the metabolic syndrome, characterized by central obesity, glucose intolerance, a poor lipid profile, and diabetes.
