Adam Sandler: Uncut Gems

Gene Siskel used to say ''I know he's got a good film in him". Well Sandlers done it in ''Uncut Gems''.

Dude plays a straight up train wreck in this movie and the pace is frantic and mesmerising all at the same time.

He'll get nominated for this one I do believe.

He was excellent for sure. It’s a movie that I found hard to watch with its frantic in your face pace.

Punch Drunk Love > Magnolia.

I knew Sandler had it in him by watching Punch Drunk Love, It's unlike anything Sandler did before. It looked to me like an extension of Robert De Niro's character in Mad Dog and Glory. Magnolia is the last Paul Thomas Anderson film I watched, it was a messy pretentious disappointment. People kept raving to me about Tommy Boy's performance, I saw another one of his male PMS shitshows. Compared to Sandler he has no range.

First time I saw him was this. Thought he killed. Last time he did anything funny. Lucky for him the world was willing to wait another 30 years for him to find his chops.

Sometimes I think Sandler suffers from self loathing, some of the projects he picks are dubious.

I just finished watching the movie online and frankly I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. I really didn't like Sandlers acting (trying a bit hard to be like Al Pacino?) as I found him to be irritating at times but I guess that is the character he was playing.
