Scientology claims they can cure homosexuality. L. Ron's kid was gay (and I believe committed suicide).
I think it is pretty much a given Travolta is gay. I think Jones spoke off the cuff, and sounds like she regretted it.
There are still places in North America, that being gay can get you at best ostracized, and at worst killed. Travolta hiding his homosexuality yet openly being a scientologist and applying those fucked up scientology beliefs to the raising of his family is a sad state of affairs (better off crazy than gay).
