Acer Netbooks any Good?

hiya WoodPeckr, man I hate going into most retail electronics joints...bait & switch, and most salespeople know jackshit about the products.

worst is all the god damn upselling in stores such as BestBuy, every 15feet, then back at register, and their cashcow extended warranties...no, I just wanna get the fuck outta here!

I'd rather pay a little more at some ma & pa shop...sometimes there are ones which specialize in the brands I'm interested in anyway.

I've noticed they pull this crap on the rubes who know little about PCs. Have overheard them getting the newbies to buy extended warranties, the priciest AV available and having them buy their services to remove trialware and 'optimize the new PC', along with other upsells at Best Buy.

I just laugh at them and tell them that's all BS. Once they see I know what I'm talking about they usually stop their 'extras con'. A few even got very helpful after seeing they couldn't BS me...:wink:

Stopped by Staples today to check out their Acer AS 5742-6823 with an Intel i3 mp, 15" screen. $479.84-$100 if I buy this week. I need a laptop. I don't want to wait or shop anymore. I need it for the long weekend.
