Hatred is hatred. Whether it's Rosanne's misguided twets or Sarah Palin indirectly calling for Obama's lynching during the 2008 Presidential election. Laurie Metcalf siad it herself, Rosanne makes poor decisions when she goes off her meds.

When she's on her meds, she makes smart decisions like hiring Whitney Cummings to be the show runner of the reboot. Again, I don't believe that Rosanne is an outright racist.
Being a racist is not about poor decision making unless you count coming out the closet as a racist as a bad decision, then I agree.

You are not racist because you are Bi-Polar, meds don't make you stop being a racist and you don't have to think she is one. Thankfully most of the world knows differently.

Not going to happen. Rosanne is the Executive Producer. There's not a chance they would kill her off and continue the series. She would continue to make money from every episode.
People pay to watch all sorts of things, I suspect that her show could do quite well in the world of pay-per-view. It all depends upon whether she holds the rights to the program.

Now I wouldn't watch it, but that is an utterly different matter.

I believe she does.

Trump's base is Roseanne's audience. She will be backstopped and martyred for this unfortunate racist gaff by many in America with the current climate.

So Trump has finally weighted in via Twitter. And in typical narcissistic Trump fashion, it's all about him:

"Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that “ABC does not tolerate comments like those” made by Roseanne Barr. Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC. Maybe I just didn’t get the call?"

This guy is supposed to be President - he should have somebody lock away his phones for while.

Good comment by Trump. That level of candidness is prized in a President, and it's why he is President.

In what way is this a "good comment" for a President to make?
ABC is a network dedicated to bashing Trump 24/7 and no amount of vitriol seems to cross the line, yet Roseanne makes a joke (she is a comedian, and she likely didn't know the woman is Black - it's far from obvious since she's actually multi-racial) and ABC axes her.

There is a gaping double standard and discrepancy.

No - he is President because Hilary was unpopular and people didn't realise then how truly flawed he is.
His flaws were well known. People voted for him in spite of them. Trump is the best thing to happen to society in the past 20 years. People are actually having more frank dialogue than ever before and pushing back on PC culture into the hole in belongs - something gravely needed. And he's getting shit done in office.

That is a brilliant defense. You should join Aardie in the "legal" profession. Roseanne called her a mixed Muslim and ape, not knowing that she was born in Iran to African american parents.

Her comments are not suggestive at all that she knew the woman was black, but it is not germane to the argument I was making anyway. Trump bashing (in jokes and in "serious" discourse/analysis) daily and ABC is supportive. Roseanne posts a joke and gets canned. Only hypocrites are ok with one and not the other.

He spoke simple language that his base can understand and it highlights the inability of Trump and any (not all) of his racist supporters to recognise racism from valid criticism.

Besides Trump's predictable self serving comments - I liked some of the other headlines I'm reading.

"Roseanne blames Ambien for rant"

"Ambien maker: 'Racism is not a known side effect'"

I can almost guarantee there was alcohol/drugs involved with her tweet.

But hey, In Vino Veritas

If she didnt know she was black, then why did she refer to her as an "ape"??
Because if you cross breed a Muslim extremist and an ape, you would get something that looks like VJ. Poor taste of humor, sure? Kernel of truth? Yup.

Do you have any idea how many times Trump has been referred to as an ape or monkey? https://www.google.ca/search?q=trum...q3bAhVk9IMKHTmiCncQ_AUICigB&biw=1920&bih=1069

Calling someone an ape is not itself racist. It's perfectly possible she had no idea the woman was black. She's pretty far on the lighter shade.

But folks will see what they want to see or what they've been programmed to see.

I feel bad for everyone who just lost their job. What she said was stupid and insensitive, but not worth everyone getting canned over it.

He's just trolling you essguy. That's what smallcock does. Anything and everything is about The Donald with Trump.

Multiple points in that statement have been proven false:
1) Roseanne is claiming it was her sleeping pills that enabled her to make the comment. It was never meant as a joke. She claims had she not been on Ambien, she never would have said it. <--- I'll bet the entire far-right accepts that as truth!
2) Turns out Roseanne has mentioned Jarrett in her stand-up routine and is fully aware she is black. This isn't the first time that Barr has targeted black women with racist comments.

Both of the above pieces of information have been public for 24 hours .... Smallcock, surprised you weren't aware of it.
