When I was a Kidten, I was at a ghost town in Nevada. It use to be an old silver mining town that dried up. The the temp. that day was 47C in the sun. It looked like a place that Clint Eastwood did his early movies.

Funny you're posting about this now. Many cities and towns in the US are filled with abandoned buildings. Supposedly in some areas of Detroit, whole neighbourhoods are filled with abandoned houses and businesses because of the mortgage fiasco.

I know a developer here in Toronto who was talking about looking into buying a whole community for something like $500K (about 100 houses). This was a while ago so I don't know if he actually went ahead with it.....

They were there before the Mortgage problem. I remember some abandoned neighborhoods were shown in Bowling for Columbine.

Even in abandoned Hospitals in NY There lies patients files!
Xray exams, and history of employers that worked there.

If you check out the second link you can find Ontario's list.

I was also looking at Buffalo's central terminal the last train to ride was 1979.

Can you imagine the thought of finding a skeleton at one of these places!

I know alot of the pictures shown are not ancient but for some
reason it feels like there are ghost around you if you walk in.

Anyway here is an old light house from Russia

Wasn't that in Roger and Me?

I don't know the specific area but he was saying the city seized the properties from the banks for back taxes and all that had to be paid was about 5K per house. But I don't know the specifics, it was just conversational....

I saw one of those flipper shows. It was in Houston, they got 5 houses for about $5k (it might have been a bit more), they fixed em up and try to get the financing for the renters that live there. Most of the renters pulled out and went some where else. They ended up dumping the properties to another developer...

Yeah,I can see that, this guy was talking about creating a kind of gated property bordering on a reasonably good area.....something like that.
