Getting the past several election correct, and having this correct are quite separate things.

You, to my mind are entirely correct.

The GOP won't impeach him. They may stop working with him. Right now everyone is going to try and work with him, and his first few actions will likely go through on the momentum of that.

But if he continues to make enemies eventually no one will work with him and he'll be a lame duck after his first year in office.

He is starting out in office as the most disliked President ever elected, having lost the popular vote to Clinton, and with a perception that he only won because she was also very disliked.

Being the lesser evil is not much of a mandate and with a few missteps the people he has attacked in his own party may once again turn on him.

The "but he's better than Clinton" argument many made to swallow voting for him will get tired quickly as the campaign fades from memory but his dislikeability remains.

Question: Are there any major policy issues where Trump and the GOP rank and file disagree?

I think the premise that he will behave the same way he did on the campaign trail as POTUS is anything but certain.

Oh please do not report anything nevative about Saint Donald Trump. Okay? He is the most pious and honest person on earth and maybe the second messiah.

Question: Does Trump have any major policy issues? After closing down (and not paying) his policy center it seems that all he has is tweets and catch phrases. Hopefully his staff will be able to work out something rational (but the talk about his cabinet choices don't inspire confidence).

You keep repeating this line.

What policy issues do you want Trump's position on?

Be specific.

How is he going to deal with ISIS? More details than bombing the crap out of them would be appreciated.
He's going to try and build a coalition, including Russia (yes, Russia) to combat ISIS. We'll know more about this, and he'll know more about this after being briefed on international relations (you know, the stuff that is Confidential and Classified government information).

Refer to onthebottom's post which contains a link to a dozen or more campaign policy promises. Those are more tractable issues.

What the hell is Allan Lichtman smoking? If the GOP was going to stage a coup they would have done it before the election. Impeach a sitting president by his own party? Crazy talk?
This is my biggest fear also - "At the end of our September conversation, Lichtman made another call: that if elected, Trump would eventually be impeached by a Republican Congress that would prefer a President Mike Pence — someone whom establishment Republicans know and trust."

Why would politicians who Trump publicly called liars, insulted their spouses and in one case suggested one of their fathers was involved in the JFK assassination, lay all that aside to promote Trump ? It's because Trump could get the GOP elected. Mike Pense is a wacko- Christian nut case that held his nose to support Trump in spite of a variety of obviously anti-Christian behaviour and policies he publicly doesn't agree with - why ?

If Trump doesn't alter his course to match GOP policies (including free trade and off shore revenue hiding) - it wouldn't surprise me if Trump is either impeached or becomes the second president after JFK to be assassinated under controversial circumstances.
