Heres what you need

Clorox (water purificatioin 8 drops per gallon) works better than iodine or filters
Matches or windproof lighter
rope
space blankets
candles
battery operated flashlight (d or c batteries and steel wool can be used to start fires
powdered milk
dried fruit and vegetables
propane and grill for fire
canned meat
fire cans can be made from wax and corrugated cardboard rolled up inside of a can and provide fire in any conditions for a long time
(the food can be bought in any grocery store) the sites that sell survival supplies are a ripoff

First aid (at least): gauze, bandages, rubbing alcohol, aspirin or advil,

do you know about the three men stuck out in the sea... for weeks..no food... the one man cut off his arm for food... more time goes by..the second man cut off his arm for food.... weeks go by.. starving the third man says it's his turn...he pulls down his pants.. the first man says we are going to eat sasuage? ...NO says the third man..YOU ARE GOING TO DRINK!!
