"When the heck will this lousy weather stop?" disco...

IKR. Save this cold weather for January February. But at least we got these hot tunes to keep us warm and toasty.

This was a mini resurrection of Diana's solo career. Thanks to the writing and production of Chic's Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. Tony Thompson on drums. Just a magical tune.

The neo soul movement that began in the mid/late 90's with artists like Maxwell, D'Angelo (RIP), Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and Calvin Richardson is predicated on this style of music. This is a great song ogi, thanks for sharing it.

Today they mumble, back then they rapped.
Produced by Large Professor this is one of my favorite cuts from the Stillmatic LP. This was the other Large Pro production which was my favorite cut from the album

"You're Da Man"

Nas a legend and he's still doing it 30 plus years later.

KD, this one hits hard.
The entire album does. It is widely considered to be the best hip hop album of all time. And Nas was only 19 when it dropped.

Heatwave was a funk disco group from the mid 1970's to the early 1980's. A diverse group. The original members were vocalist brothers Johnny and Keith Wilder from Dayton, OH, Brit Rod Temperton who was the keyboard player and primary songwriter, Swiss bassist Mario Mantese, British guitarist Roy Carter, Jamaican guitarist Eric Johns and Czech drummer Ernest 'Bilbo' Berger. After the second album, Central Heating, in 1978, Temperton left the band but remained the primary songwriter and did production. Bassist Mario Mantese had to quit the band because he was stabbed in the heart by his girlfriend after a dispute. He ended up in a coma for several months but awoke to find himself blind and partially paralyzed. The crazy thing is to this date he is the only surviving member of the original group.

I probably posted this one before but this is my favorite track from the group. This was from the Central Heating album.
