Yes, the ones most of us who love soul and r&b are most familiar with are the ones that gained a lot of airplay and a wide audience when they were released. Many of them remain timeless in their enduring appeal.

The lesser known ones I posted are generally good, imho, but usually not at the same level. For that reason, whether they were just regional, or did not get much airplay, especially in Canada, the lesser ones usually don't have the same impact when we hear them now.

Anyways I enjoyed discovering the lesser known ones on the many "various artists and/or labels" cd's I bought while scouring the record stores in New York, Montreal, Toronto, and England, many for the very first time years after their original release, if they were even originally released at all.

I have fun posting them, and hearing from you guys regarding the ones you enjoy as well!

talk about scouring..........i heard this song as a kid on Wufo a station from buffalo....those horns , the female backup singers...i had to have that single...nowhere to be found in TO..my dad and i drove to Buffalo , in my car i might add....and yes i found the single in a record store there...and its this label and i still have it
