This is 🔥
Its got that early 70's gangsta soul sound combined with some bluesy elements.
I don't use a streaming service but would a song like this be found on there? This is some heavy diggin in the crates.

Vicki Anderson

And another one of the funky divas. I posted 'Unwind Yourself' a couple weeks back when the 45 King passed away. I think Lyn Collins has a version of this song as well

I still prefer the original version by Marlena Shaw but this is a very good cover as well

All these years I never knew that this song was written by Ashford & Simpson. They have a volume of songwriting credits.

Music just doesn't get much better than this right here. In my top 10 favorite songs ever. Lou Rawls + Gamble & Huff = PURE MAGIC

Lou's distinctive baritone crooner type voice is unparalleled. Maybe the song should have been titled "You'll Never Find (Another Voice Like Mine) :D

I may have posted this before, I'm not sure. Some more Patrice Rushen heat

Sample flipped by Q-Tip aka The Abstract for Mobb Deep's 'Temperature's Rising'

Another great example of Kanye West's production skills. John Legend provided backup vocals and possibly the piano, which is exquisite.

Not on Spotify. I had the original CD and ripped it to my iPod.

Was able to find it on YouTube to post it.

All my posted songs were on my CD's and ripped to my iPod. Then I made iTunes playlists by style of music. Lately I've been copying the playlists to USB keys to review in my car.

The ones I really like I look on YouTube to see if they are there so I can post them on terb. Amazingly despite how obscure and rare many are, 99% of the time YouTube has them...

I still have 900+ general soul songs to review, mostly 60's and 70's era.

I would guess about a quarter of them will be worth posting. Hopefully not too many duplicates, but it's hard to keep track at my age...

Keep em coming. So many of the ones you have posted I've never heard before.
