i am pretty sure the Mighty Sam version was 1st and the Rodge Martin version preceded Peaches and Herb

RIP Lamont Dozier. One third of the stellar songwriting/production team of Holland-Dozier-Holland. They brought us so many classics from Marvin Gaye's 'Can I Get a Witness' to Isley Bros. 'This Old Heart of Mine' to Freda Payne's 'Band of Gold'. Here's 3 of my favorites from them

okay so i heard this on Sirios Radio this morning,,Bluesville and i went nuts....1st off i never heard of this performer...asking myself why the hell not.........anyway this tune is older than dirt,,,sung by Frank Sinatra and Otis Redding among countless others....this version floored me...and i cranked it up in my car...and got lost in the Soul...but i still paid attention to driving lol....the beginning is slow and easy and the last minutes picks up the tempo.....inspired by Otis no doubt
