Dreamland was one of the very first CD's I ever owned. Classic early 90's dance tune right here. The Italian model depicted on the album cover and singing on video actually was lip synching. The vocals were actually performed by Martha Wash.
As many of you are aware my love for hip hop is paramount. I particularly dug the jazz fusion into the genre from 1989-1994. Guru's Jazzmatazz Vol. 1 was probably my favorite jazz/hip hop record. The project paid tribute to many of the jazz greats like Donald Byrd, Roy Ayers, Ronny Jordan, Lonnie Liston Smith, Branford Marsalis and Courtney Pine. This particular track (my favorite on the album) featured N'Dea Davenport's sweet vocals and Simon 'The Funky Ginger' Law on keyboards.
Another great jazz hip hop album was Digable Planets' Reachin (A New Refutation of Time and Space). Its a bop right off the bat
