Now for the good. How about some EPMD. Erick & Parrish Makin' Dollars. The best duo in hip hop history. From Brentwood Long Island N.Y. Their 1st 4 LP's are classics. Here's one of my favorites from each
Album #1 Strictly Business. Released in 1988. One of the best debut albums of all time, in my opinion. So many to choose from but this has stood the test of time for me, its my favorite EPMD joint.
"I'm Housin"
Album #2 Unfinished Business. Released in 1989. The "So Whatcha Sayin" instrumental was my ringtone for a couple of years but his one here is a close 2nd
"Please Listen to My Demo"
Album #3 Business as Usual was released in 1990. It's the weakest of their first 4 albums but still dope. "Gold Digger" and "Rampage" are classic joints I've posted in the past so let's go with this gem. The lead track.
"I'm Mad"
Album #4 Business Never Personal dropped in 1992. In some ways this has aged the best of the 4 for me. I've rediscovered some tracks that I slept on back in the day. This is one of them. I now rank it top 5 in their discog.
"Play the Next Man"
"You went out to a fancy restaurant
Came in acting all nonchalant
Asked you as question you shook up like Elvis Presley
You're makeup smudged, your hair messy
Don't play me, play the next man"
