x...with respect to Jubee and Whitney Houston, who, by the way DOES have an incredible singing voice....but songs just have to give me some Soul, Emotion, and Feeling
Darlene Love and Ronnie Spector has it for me...........Whitney ? not as much....but the immense talent is there. but for me there was just that something missing....only one man,s opinion
I will respectfully disagree with you on Whitney. I find that several of her ballads evoke incredible emotion from "The Greatest Love of All" to "Count on Me" from the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack to of course "I Will Always Love You" from The Bodyguard soundtrack. That is spine tingling vocals. That all being said she was a pop/r&b-soul singer more so than Darlene or Ronnie and I think that's where you're coming from.

when im on my death bed and i know the end is coming...i just want an hour of Ronnie, Darlene.Otis Redding Wilson Pickett and i will throw in a white guy...Roy Orbison....let me go out listening to their music
I'm the same. I've already got my funeral music lineup prepared. Hopefully won't have to use it for a while ;)
