i am familiar with this version but while browsing in Kops Collectables on Queen St many moons ago i came across this one..gave it a listen and i bought the single..what a fuckin, great song
Great song by both artists.

Martin Koppel, the founder and original owner of Kops bought a ton of my vinyl back around 2010. He was also the distributor in Canada for the Goldmine Soul cd's label out of Britain. Super knowledgeable about black music.

I believe way back when he brokered a sale of an original copy the Motown "Do I Love You" '45 by Frank Wilson for $25,000.

One time he invited me to his warehouse. He had many times the amount of vinyl there than he had on the whole second floor of the Queen St. West store...

I saw Etta James at the club club bluenote in Toronto years ago when she was quite bigger than in her early days. We were sitting very close to the stage when she came out wearing a light lavender dress. By the the time she finished her set, her dress was dark purple. LOL. But she was terrific. My favourite song was, of course, AT LAST.
