Your place!!
A friend of mine is worried that the tech messages that are sent from one cell phone to another cell phone are kept track of by the message center. The messages are stored and can be traced if necessary. Is this true or does someone just have an active imagination.

Just like e-mail, everything is stored. The text message has to be held somewhere, then sent out.

There's nothing really to worry about cuz there are billions of text messages flying around... unless of course your friend's into really bad stuff that'll redflag, like kiddie porn, terrorism, Comlumbine stuff, etc. And even then, there'd have to be a court order/warrant for cops to search it, and phone companies really don't care regularly.

I think all cell phone companies have to keep text messages on file for at least a year. The courts and individuals can subpoena them in criminal and civil cases.

They can track as much or little as they want. You don't really want to know what they can hear/see.

They have records of every you do on your phone so they can bill you.

Shouldn't really be a concern too most people as the information is kept private.

I always assume that anything I do/sent electronically is being monitored or stored somewhere. An unfortunate reality of the world we live in.
