Wondering if anyone can help me with a computer problem. A few days ago I tried to log into a site that requires you to type in the displayed code word. The box for the word would not display. Also, when I log on to other sites, the small squares where they usually have thumbnail photos is blank. I don't recall doing anything that would have caused this.
Does anyone have any info on how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

What browser do you use, Internet Explorer or Firefox or another one?

What version of browser ? (check out menu-Help/About)

Do you have problems with other images or only the verification images?

It is Internet Explorer, version 6.

I also have trouble seeing the thumbnails in several other sites, including the MSN home page news items and on Ticketmaster I am unable to see the event photos.

Thanks.

Can you post one of the links to the pages that don't display the verification image for you?

http://www.ticketmaster.ca/

If you change location to Toronto instead of Canada, there is a box that should show the Raptors logo, instead, it is just blank. Also, where the Rush premium seat auctions box is, instead of seeing their photo, I have a dark blue coloured background. Then when I proceed to attempt to purchase tickets, the verification code does not appear.

Fruity, I can see the Raptors Playoff Ticket Auction jpeg at that page with my fire fox browser.

Sorry jawpad, whenever I click on one of your links, my page freezes and the hourglass symbol appears so I have to close the page each time and re-open a new browser window.

Up until a few days ago, I could see it perfectly and access it with no problem using IE. It just started acting up recently.

I dont't see any verification image on the login page.

Also this image link, it's a simple jpeg image link, it should not crash anything..

I was suspecting the IE security settings on your machine, but now I'm thinking it's something else. Could be a virus, an spyware, a lot of things.

Were you installing something recently on the machine.. a "free" utility or anything like that ?

I have not installed anything recently, I also tried system restore to no avail. When you go through the ticket purchasing process, after you select number of tickets, the page shows the verification code. I am not sure if you have gone that far through the procedure, but there is a box with a series of numbers and letters.

Indeed I haven't gone that far. I've only made a bogus ticketmaster account.

Ok, what you're describing now it's NOT the login page. Is the Buy Now page..

Do you have another example of site that doesn't show the verification image for you ? something simpler ?

The same thing happened again when I clicked on this link. It freezes the cursor in the hourglass position and I have to re-open a new window. I really don't know what it could be as I have not done anything differently with the computer lately.

On the log in page, I am no longer able to see the photos in the thumbnail boxes, and in the log in page the verification code doeas not appear.

I don't have any other examples of the verification code not showing up, but on a few occasions also the thumbnail would not appear on my MSN home page.

Jawpad, thanks for your help, I have to leave now, on my way to work.
