A Lesson on Discretion...it seems common sense fails again!

I am aware I have my pictures out there, however if you recognize me online on another site unrelated to this business and not using my work name, DO NOT take it upon yourself to give a shout out using my work name. It is no different then if you saw me walking in the mall. I would hope you would not yell "Hey Molly"

We have lives outside of this work and maintaining some sort of normalcy is imperative to us. Please think before you act.

Imagine if I unknowingly walked into your office and recognized you as a client, you would expect me to go about my business and keep my fucking mouth shut!

Nothing has changed... I recall a similar post of mine in 2002.

Why is it that people can't grasp the need to be discreet. They expect it but fail to provide it.

I've had this before as well, someone on facebook calls me by the handle I use on another discussion board (not escort related).
It's not nearly as big a deal as in Molly's situation but it still makes me feel awkward and pissed off because I like the anonymity to express myself more freely.

Wouldn't think discretion or anonymity is a great concern of yours since you show your face in your pics which is accessible to everybody in the world with internet access.

I think her note was pretty clear, regardless of face pics or not. Maybe you're the guy in the mall who yells out?

True, but it's still an assumption. Until this guy knew for sure, he could have been a little more discreet.

There are a lot of open secrets in the hobbying world. You should be familiar with the terb policy that prohibits mentioning real names of terb members; the policy specifies that it still applies even if the real name of the terb member in question is public knowledge. There's a reason for that; even public knowledge, things that everyone knows, aren't really known by everyone. Even if many of those who read terb regularly, and a decent number of more casual readers, know that terbmember is really mr. realname, it is likely that hardly anyone in mr. realname's everyday life reads terb; there are probably people who don't know mr. realname is a notorious hobbyist, and that he'd prefer remain uninformed. But the more often his real name gets casually mentioned in hobbying contexts, the more widely it will become known, and the more likely some of those people in everyday life are to encounter connections between his real name and his hobbying life.

Obviously, the same applies to SPs. Just because an SP is fairly casual with some information about herself doesn't mean you should be equally casual with even the same information, and certainly doesn't mean you should be casual with other information about her.

If I understand this scenario correctly, I suspect it is quite different, and quite more devastating possibly, than someone yelling 'Hey Molly' in the shopping mall.

At least in that context you can ignore the shout, keep walking straight, don't turn your head, don't give yourself away, etc., or just have a blank stare if the villain is facing you. Thirty seconds later the sonic signal has died and nobody in the crowd around you is any wiser.

But if someone hollers "Hey Molly" online in a public forum, the words will remain online hours (maybe days later) for other civilians to see and wonder why you're not responding

You should share your real name with us so that we can be sure not to make that mistake. Or not?

I was thinking the same thing....

If you used your real name in "the biz", then if someone used it on your FB page there wouldn't be a problem now would there? You've posted pictures of your face on your sex biz site(s) so obviously you have a reduced concern for annonimity.

The other solution is to delete your FB page - which more and more people are doing. (Assuming you are refering to FB, or Twitter or some other such site)

it doesnt even have anything to do with anonymity. as she said, no matter what aspect of the business we work in, when we are not working, we try our best to maintain a normal life. when im out on my days off doing my running around, the last thing i want is ro be reminded of work, just like anybody. im sure the last thing any of you want is to have to think about work when youre not working. many girls i know find it very offputting to be associated with their profession when they are not in a work setting. a nod, wave, or polite hello is fine, but when im out and about on my days off, i am no longer "bella" and am very put off at being called that

Oh the horror, an anonynous person being called out anonymously by another anonymous person on the internet, how will you go on.
