Scientists had expected that 50% of plankton is gone from the world's oceans but a survey found 90% gone.
The likely cause: ocean acidification from absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere.

Fake news, because all the plastics in the oceans will absorb all the CO2.......of course this is a ridiculous statement, but not too far off from what I hear on right-wing media.

Maybe one day they will find out the long-term effects of microplastics on us and environment, it can't be good.
